Casa Ideale: We Are Ona (one of the coolest hospitality clubs out there) is setting up shop in Arles, France (and you can come stay)
If there is one party in Europe—or rather, the world—that knows how to play restaurant in impossibly beautiful places, then it is it We Are OnaThe Parisian event agency has been conjuring up a series of very popular pop-up restaurants at the most fabulous locations since 2019, such as a tennis club in Milan or a skyscraper terrace in Hong Kong. And that list will be expanded in the summer of 2026 with Casa Ideale in Arles, Provence, France. And this time, you get to stay the night too!
In lovely Provence, in the city of Arles, the We Are Ona team checked into Villa Bank, a former residence designed by the modernist architect Émile Sala (a well-known figure if you know him, so to speak). Not for just one night, but for the entire summer season (and who knows, maybe longer? We think so..). Casa Ideale It is called the latest, longer-than-normal experiment: a hotel with guest rooms, English pub-style with an artsy French twist.
To watch the take over For six months, We Are Ona joined forces with the Paris-Milanese art foundation Fondazione Sozzani. They provided work by icons such as William Claxton, Sarah Moon, and Helmut Newton for the walls. The furniture is an ooh-and-aah selection of the best mid-century design, such as a desk and sofa by French designer Henri Bataille and various pieces – including a Doghe coffee table – by Italian architect Ettore Sottsass. Parisian gallery owner Luna Laffanour was responsible for this selection (and yes: when you know, you know). Do you think something is awesome and do you have a hefty wallet? Pack it up and take it with you, because everything is for sale.
And then there is the food. Oh, the food… That is and remains the trademark of We Are Ona and – alongside the creative interior – the main reason to book. The promise is creative dishes, largely made with local ingredients, and vegetables and herbs from the villa's own garden. That is how we like it.
