Republic of Bloemendaal: golden oldie in a new coat
Completely upgraded from a great beach bar that is open all year round to a fantastic location on the coast that - thank God - is still open all year round. We're talking Republic of Bloemendaal of course, the golden oldie in a new guise. Or say, jacket, because the entire club was stripped and given a brand new look. We are hooked.
Republic of Bloemendaal has always been a nice place to cycle to – rain or shine – to get some fresh air. But as soon as the summer stuff showed up again, there were other tents from the list that were a bit more fun and relaxed. But that is different now: Republic has been transformed into an incredibly stylish place where you want to go with or without children and with or without dogs. Spacious, light and with pleasant acoustics. Even if it is full of kids and yaps, you can still have a relaxed conversation here. And that's an art.
In terms of looks everything is fine with Republic. Everything was thoroughly overhauled by an architectural firm, completely rebuilt and at the time of tapping, the finishing touches were still being added. Both the exterior and the interior were completely upgraded and beautiful, timeless materials were used. Lots of wood, enormous walls of glass and a light gray stone fireplace. The same windows can be opened in the summer, so that inside and outside flow smoothly into each other. And if it is gray and grey, you can snuggle up by the fireplace or on one of the comfortable couches and gaze endlessly towards the sea through all those windows. Everywhere you look there are beautiful corners to enjoy and if you arrive early, you can still choose where you settle. High-end, that's what you can call the Republic. Or bizarrely handsome. Anyway, please copy and paste everything home.
Everything is very tasty here, including the coffee (which is unique for a beach bar) and the wood-fired pizzas. The nice staff is clearly looking forward to it. Children are happily strolling around, the trendy birds are enjoying a drink and you are also more than welcome with your four-legged friend. Long story short: we have no choice but to label it 'new favorite'. Republic of Bloemendaal, how nice to have you here.
