Barts Best of: The tastiest places in Rome, Italy

Who says Rome, says pasta. Says pizza. But what if you want something different than the well-known, less exciting bites? Then read below. A city trip to Rome is not complete without good Italian coffee - with something tasty of course. The best places from breakfast to dinner at a glance (with pizza and pasta of course), that is Barts Best of: the tastiest places in Rome, Italy.

We certainly have more Italy

Fiaschetteria marini

Fiaschetteria marini

Delicious dinner at Fiaschetteria Marini.  A cozy restaurant with a classic design, but deliciously Italian. The service is very friendly and is happy to explain what is on the Italian menu. Between the locals enjoy all the goodies.

The menu doesn't have many options, but all local.

Forno Campo de 'fiori

Forno Campo de 'fiori

Can we have a moment for the tastiest zucchini flower mozzarella focaccia? Yep, that's quite a mouthful. At bakery Forno campo de 'fiori the delicious scent will already greet you. The ideal snack or quick bite between you trip by.

They also have freshly baked pizzas, sandwiches, cookies and savory pies and it is the ideal budget tip.

From Enzo to 29

From Enzo to 29

Best plate of pasta in Rome, can we say that? A small, cozy and cozy restaurant where you cannot make a reservation. Bee From Enzo to 29 Sometimes you have to wait a while, but it is more than worth it.

Simple, but very tasty.

Bar San Castilo

Bar San Castilo

Of course we want to eat good food and as much pasta and pizza as possible when we are in Rome. But we also want fun and good drinks. Bee Bar San Castilo you can sit in a nice square and have good drinks.

You also come here for coffee the Italian way.

Ancient Roscioli oven

And very occasionally, we just want a quick bite during all that strolling through the city. What we don't want is a soggy sandwich. And when in Rome then we want pizza. Such a tasty slice on the go. It's best to catch up on that Ancient Roscioli oven.

The bakery is four generations old and tradition plays an important role. Everyone knows where to find the bakery, because it can be a bit busy. But you get great fresh ingredients in return.

Rocco Ristorante

Rocco Ristorante

Rocco Ristorante, a very good place for (even more) pasta. Although we would like to recommend a number of menu options, it is difficult. This restaurant does not have a menu with endless options, but a small changing menu. Very good options, that is.

At Rocco Ristorante, authenticity is what matters. A typical Italian restaurant, so you can also see Rome off the beaten track.

Breakfast at Marigold

Breakfast at Marigold

You can eat delicious food in Rome, that is clear, but the hip, more modern places are hard to find - especially when it comes to brunch. Crazy huh? It really is. Because for the Italians it's all about a cup of espresso and a simple sweet. Well now… Not like that Marigold in Rome. This is the right place for you if you want a little more. Delicious brunch dishes such as shakshuka, eggs with avocado on toast or sweets like pancakes en french toast. And that's really good that you know that.
After all: there is its own sourdough bakery next to the building that immediately makes the place smell nice and where delicious baked goods, cakes and breads come through the door. The coffee is refined to perfection - the bean comes from our own pot and the cups containing the black gold are equally cozy and stylish. We can only recommend going here, preferably on your first morning.

Breakfast/coffee at Faro specialty coffee

Breakfast/coffee at Faro specialty coffee

There is little better than a good Italian coffee. Bee El Faro can you get it? And many other good things: they serve the most delicious pudding rolls here! You know, so nice and crispy on the outside and with firm, good cream on the inside. The kind you can only get in Italy. The interior is not really very hip, but hey, we are in Italy, it is cozy and cozy.

lunch: Cugino

lunch: Cugino

Actually this is cheat, want Cousin has been set up and works together with Marigold, but if we are honest with a completely different twist and what is good, you can do it more often, right? Cugino is located in a lovely garden with a bright interior. Lots of plants and ocher yellow chairs. Nice! This way you are immediately in a chic setting. Cugino's menu is all-day-every-day. You can go there for brunch, but also for a... appetizer. Something you obviously MUST do in Italy – the only question is 'when are we going?'. Breakfast? Delicious pastries, pancakes and omelette. For the aperitivo? Do yourself a favor and order the delicious “green” cocktail – you won't regret it. In addition, always order a snack, especially at Cugino, because the deep fried pasta snack is not to be missed. Also the green fried tomato is a must try.

Dinner at Barred

Dinner at Barred

At swept eat the modern, hip Italian: not a tourist in sight here. Natural wines are served there, the good ones, but 'normal' wines are also on the drinks menu. Everything can be ordered by the bottle: delicious and also very affordable (you can take the remainder home - that is very normal here). In addition, there is a more than excellent menu with wines available by the glass, so if you are less thirsty, you will also be satisfied.
The card is exciting and challenging. So you can go there if you are a meat lover, but also for good fish or a nice vegetarian dish. Like the ricotta with pomodoro tomatoes and garlic. Or how about lemon pasta with delicious tartare? Don't miss the delicious ceviche! You can sit comfortably on the terrace and the neighborhood is certainly enjoyable: it is a truly local, non-touristy district of Rome.
You should make a reservation, because Barred is popular!

Dinner at Enteco L'antidoto

Dinner at Enteco L'antidoto

You will find it in a very pleasant neighborhood on the other side of Ponte Sisto Enteco L'antidoto. A wonderful wine bar where you get an entire wall of wine in front of you. The staff will give you good advice and there is something for everyone. From orange to white, from red to rosé. You can go wild. Unfortunately the tent has none allow to serve and pour yourself, so you get an opener and bottle of wine pressed into your hand. Aren't you soldiering on with your bottle? Then you take the remainder home with you. Easy enough.
In addition to a good wine range, there is also a fantastic menu with small, refined snacks.

Circoletto

Circoletto

Ah yes, natural wine certainly has a place for that in Rome. Bee Circoletto this is the place to be for the best natural wine. Of course combined with delicious snacks and small dishes to share.

Rent a bike

Rent a bike

Renting a bike in Rome is easier said than done, but a big tip is Bikeology. You can rent different types of bicycles, normal city bikes, but also electric bicycles and mountain bikes, plenty of choice! And not unimportant: the bikes also look good and can be used on the gram (we are like that). Cycling in Rome is highly recommended, so you can get to your next food spot faster.
