Bart Stays inside… And bakes scones with the kids (or without the kids)

You don't know what you have in your pantry and what you can make with it! Just pay attention (and just look in the cupboards):

What goes in the bowl for the tastiest scones?
125 g butter (cold!)
450 gr self-raising flour
2 tl baking powder
50 g icing sugar
1 pinch of salt
150ml buttermilk
optionally add: pieces of dark chocolate, cranberries or raisins.

How?

How?

Preheat the oven to 220 degrees. Cut the butter into cubes. Mix the flour, baking powder, icing sugar and salt in a bowl. Add the butter and knead into a dough. When it comes together a little more, add the buttermilk and make a nice thick dough. If you are one of the optionals (chocolate, cranberries or raisins) at home then add these! (we would go for 1 of the 3, not all 3 ;)).
From the ball of dough, make a slab of dough (roll it or flatten it well with your fingers) to a thickness of 1 cm. Take a cup or glass and make sure that a 4 cm circle is cut out. Place them on the baking tray and bake for 12 minutes until lightly brown.
Delicious with whipped cream or jam. Enjoy!
