Just ten kilometers from Brussels, in Dilbeek, you'll find Waer Waters, a stunning 12000 m² wellness and hotel complex. It's an oasis of elegance and the perfect combination with a city break in Brussels (Brussels is fun!Everywhere you look, you see rough natural stone, wooden planks, and greenery, lots of greenery (from plants and trees, that is).
The ultimate escapism is something the four-star hotel itself must offer, and they have a point: everything is impeccably presented, from the saunas and pools to the sports facilities (tennis, squash, and a modern gym) and the restaurants. There's a nudist and a clothing-optional area, and the rooms have that lovely, serene Scandi look in all shades of nature you'd expect from a spa. Booking just a massage, or using the pools on a beautiful summer day, is certainly possible, but we'd recommend staying overnight.
Thermen Resorts has a number of fine spa gems, such as Thermen MaastrichtThis location, nestled near the Belgian border in the green landscape of Dousberg in Maastricht, is the ideal spot to completely unwind. Tip? Combine your visit with a wine route through the area – one of the most enjoyable and relaxing things we did last year.
While it looks beautiful outside, the interior is equally impressive. The venue is beautifully designed and offers a variety of saunas, from the tropical sounds of the Amazon in the Bliksemsauna to a panoramic sauna overlooking the rolling landscape. And, since this summer, they also have three brand-new saunas to enjoy!

Okay, okay, this isn't a full spa. This is for those moments when you don't have time to soak for hours, but still need a reset. Amsterdammers will know it: Kuuma Sauna. They have two top locations in the city: Marineterrein in Amsterdam East and in Amsterdam North, in front of the super fun cinema HC Hyena right on the IJ.
Kuuma has already expanded considerably, with locations in major cities such as Breda en Nijmegen. Or how about a sauna on the beach in Wijk aan Zee of Scheveningen? And then a cold plunge in the sea? Now that's a big reset! The other locations are also on the water, and always at nice restaurants, so warming up with a cup of hot tea is always an option.
Booking online is incredibly easy. Choose a time slot to share with others (€15 for 75 minutes), or rent the sauna for an hour and a half with friends (from €100). Kuuma Sauna
Aan nice spas in amsterdam no shortage of spacious spas. Hotel & Wellness Zuiver is an exception. Zuiver is located on the edge of the city, in the Amsterdam forest. There are a lot of facilities, if you want to use all the swimming pools, relaxation areas and eight saunas you can't do anything else than stay overnight. It helps that it's not a punishment, so you still have time for a massage. Or a lesson in the gym, although for some that is a punishment. If an overnight stay is not possible for whatever reason, a day pass for thirty euros is a good alternative.
Othmar Bierspa, Ootmarsum – a spa and beer? In one? Yes, that's what they do at Othmar. In a castle-like environment you can take a beer bath (warm water with hops, yeast and malt - the start of every beer), have a drink at the beer brewery, sleep in the inn and bubble in the beer spa. Not your traditional spa, but probably the nicest.
Spa farm Nutter, Nutter – at the Spa Farm (near Ootmarsum) they take a more traditional approach, and with packages that often include a special 'oven' to relax in: a bread oven, hay oven, herb oven, clay oven... Definitely an oven that also suits you. Nature and wellness shake hands here.
Sauna Saré Thermen & Beauty, Deurningen – Sauna Saré is slightly larger than the top two and, in addition to the 'normal' spa treatments, also offers massages and beauty treatments.
Transformed old farms are a secret crush and if it turns out as beautifully as at the hotel Mooi RiverYou'll want to stay forever. Add to that a fantastic kitchen, a breathtaking view, and unparalleled service, and you'll understand why we'd love to move into Mooirivier tomorrow. Add to that the Wellness & Gym, and you'll never have to leave. There are various saunas, foot baths, a gym, and—and not every wellness center can boast this—you can also take a dip in the Vecht River, then warm up again in the sauna and relaxation area. The perfect combination of nature, tranquility, and luxury, right there at Mooirivier.
The wellness is only for hotel guests, so you won't encounter crowds of people there.
Feet in the sand, get a breath of fresh air, sunbathe, wander around and then head to the wellness. And on the other hand, dressing yourself and your loved one up old-fashioned for dinner: dress on, heels underneath, shoes polished, jacket on... Go. Treat yourself take care of and then rolling upstairs into your bed. So two-in-one. Beach hotel Cadzand-Bad. Relax and disconnect of the daily race and treat yourself to a star meal. Yoga on your balcony with the swirling sea behind you, a visit to the sauna, or a champagne drink for two with a view of the marina. Or endless walks including a 0-shit-phone-in-your-room-forgotten hole (everything nice and close).
A world of peace and relaxation by the water... On the Maarsseveense Plassen lakes, you'll find Thermen Maarssen. Inside, it's both serene and modern. It boasts a wealth of amenities: an infrared cabin, lavender cabin, salt crystal sauna, or one of the indoor or outdoor pools (and that's not all). But the absolute favorite is the sauna on the water with its stunning view. Afterwards, take a dip in the refreshing lake and finish with a delicious lunch or dinner in the restaurant.
And what's even better? They recently added beautiful foot baths on the deck by the lake. Your gaze is drawn to infinity, your thoughts are still. Here you can enjoy complete peace.
Would you rather not prance around naked? This is certainly not necessary everywhere. In some places it is not even allowed. Swimwear is mandatory at the Spa & Wellness Center of Kasteel Vaalsbroek, even in the sauna. This spa (with sauna, swimming pool and fitness), located between the hills of Vaals in South Limburg, is a great place to recharge. You can go there for all kinds of different treatments such as facial treatments, peelings and (hot stone) massages. Vaalsbroek Castle is also a hotel, so if possible, stay overnight.
Back to the essence. It is truly relaxing in the 1400 m2 Spa & Wellness of Hotel de Blanke Top. After visiting the various saunas with a picture-perfect overlooking the beach, you can completely relax in the roof garden. Any energy left afterwards? Hit the gym. The nice thing is, they also have a family spa here. This way you can go out with the little stuff. Look out over the vast beach from the family sauna and let even the little ones play in the pool. For those who think: children in the sauna?! No worries. The little ones are no longer allowed from 15:00 PM to 20:00 PM. You can also book wonderful treatments for your face body, your hands or your feet. Something for everyone.
The almost noble hospitality of this place... To be honest, there is nowhere we would rather come. You are immersed in a pampering bubble where you roll out after 24 hours as a much chiller person. Satisfied, rosy and relaxed. As if the real world has stood still and you have been able to forget everything that is not fun or difficult for a moment. How? Well, the spa with Turkish steam bath and sauna that you can reserve certainly helps with that. And the heated indoor and outdoor swimming pool, with a view of the forest. It wellness center The Art of Beauty, by Lauswolt We certainly cannot miss massages and treatments (with the brands LaPrairie and Oolaboo).
The Oeverhorst… Aaah yes, the wonderful world called Oeverhorst. A lot of nature - as it is so beautiful in Overijssel - and in between a beautiful piece of unique architecture that blends in with the Overijssel environment. A beautiful and small-scale place to stay with a lot of tickle-yourself moments. They have a complete wellness garden, which includes: an infrared cabin, Finnish sauna and a wonderful jacuzzi in the middle of the garden. And then sleeping... because you can sleep in clouds. Choose the apartment with a luxurious bathroom (with two sun showers and a 2-person massage bath) for four people, or choose the other double apartment with its own sauna, massage bath and shower with steam cabin. Also useful to know: when you book the top apartment, the bottom apartment will be blocked and vice versa, which means that you have the entire Oeverhorst (including the wellness garden) to yourself!
This is great. A private wellness in Moergestel, there in Braboland. Hop into the sauna with one picture-perfect view over the Brabant countryside. A large jacuzzi, luxurious swim spa, Finnish sauna, and outdoor and rain shower to freshen up. Then a snack or drink, which you can book in with the package. Do you want to give things an upgrade? Then book a massage in advance.
And then after relaxing, move on to the sleeping area - with a TV, lounge and a spacious bathroom. Start the day well with that beautiful view, and then return home fully recharged.
That W Amsterdam has a flashy swimming pool on the roof terrace – aka the roof terrace for normal people – everyone knows. It is a lot less known that the basement has a swimming pool and even an entire spa. AwaySpa is a urban sanctuary where you can relax, make your nails shine, get your hair done, book a facial or vegan massage. Away Spa used for the body treatment the products of The Tides and there are different massages to choose from. We call them massage plus, because it is much more than massaging your skin and muscles. From one Detox massage to a soothing body exfoliation with seaweed; it is possible at Away.
Akashic Holistic Wellbeing To call the Conservatorium Hotel in Amsterdam a spa is actually selling it short. It is known as the wellness center of Amsterdam with 1000 square meters of pure luxury. It is a spacious and quiet oasis, which is great in the middle of the capital. A hammam, sauna, jacuzzi and the most fully equipped gym (of all hotels in Amsterdam). The truly experienced employees are only too happy to pamper you. You can book all kinds of therapies or treatments – from facials to massages, to watsu. Akasha has often been voted the best luxury spa in the Netherlands and should therefore certainly not be missing from this list.
Would you like to know more about the Conservatorium Hotel, then take a look here.
Oh how wonderful, a luxurious wellness center on the beach of Vlieland with different types of sauna, foot bath, jacuzzi and swimming pool. The shades and materials are natural and completely match the island. There's nothing better than sitting down for dinner after a day at the spa and getting a breath of fresh air on the beach.
Also nice to give as a gift to a friend, for a weekend in Vlieland with a visit to the spa. Rest and recharge it is.
It's also a good place to stay here, adults only on the Veluwe. That mix is definitely a favorite. Wellness and nature, they enhance the relaxing feeling. What can you expect from the wellness? Well a spacious sauna, steam bath, tepidarium, wellness bath, fitness and swimming pool. The swimming pool is heated to 29 degrees and the relaxation pool to 31 degrees.
You start the morning well here with a tasty and healthy à la carte breakfast, and in the evening it is a culinary party in Restaurant Cèpes. Also recommended for a romantic weekend for two.
Anyone who is always busy, busy, is doing something wrong. We know. But still... It keeps creeping in. Let's join hands for the existence of City Spas! Fast spas in the heart of the city. In Amsterdam Five City Spa Amsterdam an absolute favorite. The location on 1st Jacob van Campenstraat in the middle of De Pijp is just right (and there is also one in Utrecht, which was the first location). We always go for the excellent masseurs. They are exactly what they should be: modest but decisive, listening to your own preferences and focused on your focus points. Their signature Five Full Body Massage is perfect, but during and just after our pregnancies (several moms here at Bart are fans) we stood in line for specific massages such as the Pregnancy and Mama Massages. And that name? All “Five” senses receive attention when you pass by. But you have to experience that yourself!
Pssssst… don't tell anyone: eight recycled shipping containers are hidden behind all the offices in hectic Amsterdam-Southeast. These sea containers continue their daily life under the name Soak Urban wellness. A boutique wellness in shipping containers, okay... Escape the busy work life and stretch out in a massage chair, or dive into an infrared sauna. At Soak Urban Wellness you can book your own space or studio with your own wellness facility(s). So you never share a sauna with a stranger. And then our favorite treatment? The 'private wellness studio for two'. This wellness studio consists of a Finnish sauna, Turkish steam bath, showers with foot baths, a cold cooling hose, relaxation beds and a patio where you can sit outside to cool off.
There is also a wellness bar where you can order fresh smoothies, juices or a salad bowl.
Relax in the sauna, plunge pool, sun shower, jacuzzi or take a dip in the heated pool. Summer or winter? Doesn't matter, bee BLUE wellness In Zeeland you can enjoy a wonderful stay here all year round. A luxurious wellness resort with 20 sauna and wellness facilities, a cozy restaurant, a spacious wellness garden and an extensive beauty center. Oh yes, also right on the coast to get some fresh air or take a dip after steaming.
We are heading towards The Hague – Voorschoten to be precise – where IVY Boutique Wellness houses. In addition to splashing in the pool, you can also use the saunas, relaxation areas, gym and beauty treatment. Here you will really find Peace with a capital R and you will not trip over other people's feet. After relaxing, dive into the village. Sitting next to Ivy Mimi tasting room (tasting room and lifestyle store), Valk Fresh Market (place to be in the field of groceries) and we have heard that you can order the tastiest pancakes here at the pancake farm Aunt Tokkie.
Rituals – from the wonderful shower stuff – has five great ones across the country City Spas (in Amsterdam, Almere, Heemstede, Knokke and Maastricht) and one thing is certain: it is always good. We recently went there for a spa treatment and in short: it was a great success. Not a spa in the sauna and steam baths sense of the word, but for facials, massages, manicures, pedicures and more. Steaming no, frying yes.
This one is an oldie. Sauna Decor is one of the oldest saunas in Amsterdam, and they are not averse to a lick of gold here and there. You imagine yourself in chic Amsterdam meets Paris spa and hops from Finnish sauna cabins to steam bath, and via infrared sauna to massages. In short, Herengracht is the place to be.
Owner Frank Bart is a big fan of forts and decided to convert one: the luxurious eco-chic wellness resort Fort Resort Beemster is the end result. The baths are heated by using residual heat from the saunas. Even the rainwater and the sun are used to put Fort Resort Beemster on the map as sustainably as possible. And we succeeded! Fort Resort is located twenty minutes from Amsterdam and is a gift for every sauna lover. They also offer facial treatments, massages and there is a traditional hammam.
