Favorite all-day spot in Dubai: Tom & Serg
We have another one: a place where the average tourist does not easily visit during a trip to Dubai. In the megacity that Dubai is, precisely in the vibrant, creative Al Quoz district hidden gems Tom & Serg. This gem is one Melbournian inspired cafe, or the perfect one laid back mock for all day breakfast, special coffees, juicy burgers and/or healthy bowls. And when do you really feel like having a tent like that? That's right, on holiday.
The originally industrial area, where Tom & Serg is located, is anyway hot and happening so save it, this place! One former after another warehouse is transformed into a hip coffee shop, nice interior design store or creative hub. The industrial character of the neighborhood is reflected in the spacious interior. In the 'warehouse space' you see a cement floor, ventilation openings, steel stairs, look-a-like fluorescent lighting and outdoor lamps and brick wall. The whole gets a fresh atmosphere thanks to white and green accents.
The history of Tom & Serg Dubai is going way back, so we'll keep it short: in 2013, Tom & Serg Dubai was founded by Aussie Tom and Spanish Sergio. Tom likes to make good food, Sergio likes to eat it. And presto, Tom & Serg were born. The menu is to die for and has everything your hungry heart desires. From freshly baked banana and hazelnut bread with stewed pears, maple syrup and mascarpone to banh mi baguettes with beef brisket, kimchi and lime mayo. Would you like to know how something is prepared? Just ask. Tom and Sergio think every recipe is worth making, and worth sharing. They are passionate, there is no other way to call it and that is both fun and infectious. What they make and how they make it is no secret. Fresh ingredients, with patience, care and love, processed into heavenly brunch and lunch dishes.
Good to know: from October (we are talking 2021) the temperature in Dubai is wonderful, and the World Exhibition will take place EXPO 2021 starts. Perfect travel time for a visit! If you fly with Emirates to the UAE within a certain period, you will receive a free entrance ticket to the EXPO 2021. The latter will take place between October 2021 and March 2022. Well, we are still Dutch.
