Want to recover after a whole day of city tripping or just do nothing at all after a long day at the beach? Then you must have Ziggo! Because for real TV enthusiasts who do not want to miss their favorite programs, series or films, even during the holidays, it is nice to know that there are ways to continue watching television abroad. This means you can now watch your own favorites on TV not only at home, but also abroad. A piece of home with you on holiday! What are these ways? Is it coming:
Are you traveling within Europe? Then it's nice to know that streaming services offer their content NOT ALLOWED are allowed to block more for customers and you can therefore watch films, series and online programs in every EU country via the same TV apps as in the Netherlands. A small side note: keep in mind that due to rights issues, not all programs may be available.
Traveling outside Europe? Great fun! But outside the European Union, the apps of streaming services are blocked by default, because they do not have broadcasting rights here. Annoying? Yes! Is there a solution? Certainly! In these countries you need a Virtual Private Network to watch television. In short: A VPN hides your IP address, so it is not clear where you are. The server routes your data traffic to the Netherlands, making it appear as if you are surfing the internet from there, instead of at your holiday destination. This gives you access to the content and you can watch it - for example via ZiggoGo – the same programs, films and series as at home.
Via the internet you can also continue to watch TV abroad on your television, smartphone, tablet or laptop. Do you want to follow everything abroad with your own internet and TV package? Then of course you have a stable connection and good internet subscription required. Fortunately, WiFi hotspots can be found in public places and in hotels, restaurants and bars in more and more countries. There are also special apps to track them.
Is a campsite the ideal holiday destination for you or have you rented a holiday home? Then you may be dependent on the WiFi connection on site. At campsites and holiday parks you sometimes even have to pay for this. Don't you want this? Then watch via a satellite connection. This is done via the dish. Now I hear you thinking satellite connection? Dish? It all sounds more difficult than it is... It is not difficult to connect and align a dish. Are you satisfied with a limited number of channels? Then Satellite TV is free. Would you rather take a piece of home with you on holiday and use the same channel package? Then you can buy a smart card and take out a subscription with a provider. You do pay one-off costs for the dish and the necessary peripheral equipment, such as cables and a receiver. But an advantage is that you are not dependent on internet or WiFi and you do not have to pay for it and you can watch television at your destination. Not very practical if you go backpacking, but it is useful if you go into the countryside with your caravan.
