Unfold Your Love: the new campaign by Samsung and Breeze
Swipe tired, wWho isn't it? Among Gen Zers and millennials, there is a real 'swipe fatigue,' and that is easy to understand. After all, who doesn't get tired of that endless scrolling on their phone? You’d much rather just meet that dream woman or man somewhere in a bar: eye contact, someone's posture—you know immediately if you have feelings. It turns out that is a lot harder to gauge from a photo.
But you tell me: where do you actually find them? Sometimes it seems like there’s nothing left to do but scroll again. Last week, Samsung and Breeze changed that: they brought 100 singles together for an offline dating experience high above Amsterdam on the ADAM Tower during the event 'Unfold Your Love'. A fitting name, by the way: just like the new Galaxy Z Fold8, the foldable phone unfolds to make room, the evening revolved around being open to new connections. Shari went there on behalf of the Barts Boekje team and shares her amazing experience.
A sultry summer evening, a top location, a welcome with an Aperol Spritz and delicious Korean snacks: that certainly helped to loosen up the atmosphere right away. Because an offline dating event, I think it's pretty cool of all those participants. What struck me most: an incredible number of fun young people showed up. Most came with a boyfriend or girlfriend, but some also came completely alone. In addition to mingling, two 'experiences' were also organized. For example, you had The Oracle: where two participants were allowed to sit together on comfortable cushions, after which Galaxy AI read their Breeze profiles and, based on that, suggested surprising conversation topics that suited both of them. A fun way to be presented with slightly more interesting questions than the standard 'what do you do for work', with a little help from AI.
I personally found it even more exciting Secretly UnfoldedSix singles who had signed up for this in advance sat together at a table, each with a brand-new Galaxy Z Fold8 in front of them. Occasionally, a notification appeared containing personal information about someone else at the table: information that the organization had already collected beforehand from friends, family, or ex-partners of the participants. It was incredibly exciting, because you have no idea what kind of information about you will be revealed. The first round was a success in any case: it seemed like two dates would result from it. Participants indicated that really nice conversations developed at the table, although one of them also admitted that there was a fact included that they themselves would never have wanted to share on a first date.
And did you go home together? Then you could take a selfie with the new Galaxy Z Fold8, which takes truly stunning photos by the way: from the ADAM Tower, I could effortlessly zoom in up to 10x on the skyline.
Unfold Your Love is the new collaboration between Samsung and Breeze, born from a relatable dating problem: swipe fatigueEndless swiping, superficial conversations, and the stress of choosing sometimes make dating more tiring than fun. So, it's time for a different approach: from swiping to meetingWith the campaign, Samsung and Breeze want to show that technology does not have to replace human connection, but can actually help create it. Galaxy Z Fold8 Series en Galaxy A.I. help with that as a sort of dating-wingman. Technology is being used to bring people into conversation with each other in an accessible and surprising way. And then the name: Unfold Your Love refers of course to the foldable from Samsung, but also to the idea of unfolding yourself and opening yourself up to new connections. That brings the story full circle.
