You will find it among the rolling Limburg hills just outside Maastricht and on the border with Belgium Chateau Neercanne, a pearl in our own country if you ask us. About ten kilometers west of Nijmegen and you are at the fairytale Doddendael Castle. A lock, yes. Strong and proud, and that in our own country. It is a castle, with an exquisite history that has been given a more than fantastic 21st century update. The building is half-hidden in the forests of Gelderland. Category 'must know'. And let's face it, words like romantic and charming don't sell the story short. You dine, party and make your vows here among the vineyards, in an orchard or under a centuries-old chestnut tree.
Good to know: getting married between April and October is not an option here. The castle (with more than six different interior spaces to choose from) is the ideal setting for a romantic one winter wedding. The medieval castle is full of crackling fireplaces and the candlelight dinner feels even more romantic in the winter months.
You will find it on a beautiful estate between De Bilt and Zeist The Hearth. A dream wedding location among lush greenery. Here you imagine yourself in a Mediterranean atmosphere with a rough edge. Janine and Martijn ensure a tailor-made wedding, where everything is arranged down to the last detail. Getting married in a greenhouse! Maybe not everyone's dream, but if it is yours, you should take a look at Brave Hendrik, the Tea Garden in Eemnes. The greenhouses as your wedding room and the rest of the garden as a place for your party, dinner or lunch and there is a romantic gazebo as ultimate setting for saying yes. If you really want to be very creative, you can also call on Theaterloods Radio Kootwijk. With their 'ode to love' they create a musical program, completely tailored to you and your day.
Fun guaranteed if your wedding location is in Brabant. And for the certainty of a beautiful-looking and romantic location, choose Domaine d'Heerstaayen, between Breda and the Belgian border. They have been importing and making the wines themselves for years, bonus points.
An intimate lunch in the greenhouse, romantic saying yes in the orangery and a toast to love in the orchard. Sounds like a fairy tale, right? A Brabant fairy tale, that is. You will find Domaine d'Heerstaayen in the middle of the woods near Strijbeek (near the Belgian border). Originally a vineyard, but so much more than that. It was already known as the ideal place to spend the night in luxury and enjoy a culinary meal, but with 750 hectares of nationally listed estate, it is Groot Warnsborn estate also the place to be to celebrate your wedding. But we want to keep a wedding intimate, right? See, that's why we love this place so much, because they have here best of both worlds. With the stately country house, the adjacent coach house and the orangery, all options for the big day are within reach. The centuries-old trees, romantic bridges and babbling brooks provide that romantic, intimate atmosphere.
Getting married in a museum isn't that crazy (and is possible in more museums than you might think), but... Museum 't Kromhout in Amsterdam East is just so, well, so cool. In an old sheep building yard and therefore industrial, with a raw edge, nothing slick and all the space to dress up your day and celebrate it the way you want. 't Kromhout is located on the water and in a kind of semi-industrial area and that really gives it a very unique atmosphere. You can also moor here by boat (via the Nieuwe Vaart) and we also think that is such a cool way to arrive at your own wedding (or sail away).
You may need a little imagination to see it in your mind, but believe us: with so much space and in such a great location, you can make it your own.
You will find it hidden between the trees there in Drenthe Château hotel and Restaurant De Havixhorst. You think of a château viva La France, wine, food, castles and lots of greenery. Before joy of living and you don't have to cross the border to get that idyllic backdrop for your wedding, as long as you celebrate your day at De Havixhorst. A truly authentic château with graceful iron curling gates, high windows, robust and white decorated pillars that form the entrance to an oasis of greenery. The courtyard with sculpture garden, winding strings of lights and tall trees picture-perfect. The only thing it's missing is you as a newlywed couple and all the friends and family to celebrate you.
Oh and a wine cellar. You can still find it there.
The best place to say yes to your prince on a white horse who fits perfectly into the fairytale picture? That's right, a castle. And preferably one where you, your prince and the guests can spend the night. It is possible at the Bilderberg Hotels in Limburg. Château Holtmühle is located in Tegelen, near the Castle Gardens of Arcen (hello photo location) and Designer Outlet Roermond (last minute shopping). Vaalsbroek Castle is located a bit further south, on an estate of no less than 18 hectares between the hills of Vaals. This hotel is even easily accessible by public transport, the bus that leaves from Maastricht station stops in front of the door. Both castles have more than enough rooms, so no one has to rush to catch the last bus. And if it all becomes a bit too cliché for you, just go for a wedding pie instead of a wedding cake. At least as tasty.
A wedding on the beach: yes please! Give us a beach wedding (summer or fall) and then at Strandclub NATUREL, please. This hidden gem in The Hague between meters of sand and wild dunes - right after the much-visited stretch of beach of the Zwarte Pad - is going on that dream location wishlist. Nothing is as zen as getting married by the sea. We can already picture it: long tables full of flowers next to the dunes with a magical view of the sea. Saying yes with your feet in the sand and toasting the sunset with a delicious cocktail in your hand. Romantic candlelight and crackling campfires, well, that doesn't get any better, right? In the wooded area of Geldrop (a stone's throw from Eindhoven) you will find a wonderful place where Brabant hospitality comes first; Kasteelhoeve Geldrop estate. On the estate you will find both the modern Kasteelhoeve Geldrop and the classic castle. You guessed it. Both buildings have their own atmosphere, both inside and out, and offer a wide range of possibilities. And that is not an exaggeration, because this location offers a lot. Very much.
In addition to the various buildings, the estate has a beautiful park surrounded by an English landscape garden with flower garden and a walled vegetable garden with orchard. Beneden Sas is run by two brothers (and with a whole team around it of course), but it really has such a friendly family vibe. So also think about something here lowerkey wedding. Not because everything cannot be arranged down to the last detail (because that is possible), but the wooded area and the rippling water around your own (oh yes, you can get married here on your own private island!) island simply does not scream haute couture and everyone-in-stilettos.
But that location: on your own island, right next to the Dintelse Gorzen nature reserve and with a view of the water of the Steenbergse Vliet. Saying yes in a picobello environment. You can also spend the night there: in the Sluiswachterswoning (max 12 people). There are also four spacious camper pitches and you will find: Below Sas camping rafts. These can only be reached by canoe and that may not be very convenient in your wedding dress. Lots of privacy, that's for sure.
