Good to know: Landlords create their own listings on Micazu. They upload their best photos and videos, write the text, set the rental prices and changeover dates, and provide a personal description of their property and the surrounding area. Sometimes you just want to lounge by the pool, pour yourself a glass of wine at an unusual hour, and finish at least three books. We understand that perfectly. A true family retreat with all the trimmings – and enough space for even grandma and grandpa to join in – can be found on the Costa Blanca. This lovely casa for 6 people is situated on a large plot, has a private pool, a covered pergola with BBQ area, outdoor bar, sitting area and romantic sunset viewsThe perfect setting for hours of drinks, dining, and relaxation. While the surroundings are green and private, you can also quickly rejoin civilization (should you desire), and the coastline is practically around the corner. Solo or together: in a beautiful valley between Lagos and Sagres, you'll find a truly unique love nest. The Algarve is already hard not to fall in love with, and owners Franc and Isa take it even further. The terracotta nature house adjacent to their own home is decorated with Moroccan and Mediterranean influences. Think red and white tiles, wooden ceilings, and the orange glow of the sun that shines here year-round. Outside, you have your own lounge area with a hammock and breathtaking views of nature and the most beautiful sunsets. What more could you ask for? Ah, swimming, of course! Within five minutes, you can be digging your toes into the sand at the idyllic beaches of Burgau and Luz. But there's no shortage of choice: with more than twenty beaches within a half-hour drive, you can discover a new, intimate cove every day. And believe us: you won't find one anywhere so pristine (with cliffs, wild waves, and muito privado) as in Portugal.
Full throttle towards Tzummarum. And before you drive over there in your swimsuit: that's a Fryske A village near Harlingen, not some exotic Asian destination. So what are we looking for there? A beautifully renovated holiday home with a genuine gypsy caravan, good for eight people. And it certainly is beautiful. In the detached holiday home, a combination of two former farm workers' cottages from 1900, you can still experience the characteristic character of the past, but with a mix of design. So, you can lean back in the Ligne Roset, while the crackling wood-burning stove warms the dining room. And while that's truly enjoyable, the surroundings are no punishment either. With a view of the dike from the living room, you're just a few steps away from the mudflats, where you can see birds, rabbits, and maybe even deer passing by in the distance. In the evening, the lighthouses of the Wadden Islands light up through the windows of your cozy accommodation. Once your own light goes out, you have a choice of five bedrooms. But the best spot? The box bed, not for sleeping, no, for reading a book.
Swedish enjoyment within the country's borders? There can only be one! Or two, actually, because in the wilderness of Rheezerveen – in the east of the country – you'll find cabins that will make you feel zen just by looking at the photos. Let alone once you actually set foot in these cozy nature houses. In both Nulytø and Nijlikø, two stylishly furnished cabins with two bedrooms (and in cabin Nijlikø, a crib for the little boy scout), you'll find every comfort inside and relaxation outside. After a brisk walk through the peaceful surroundings, you can dive straight into the sauna or end the day with a glass of bubbly in the hot tub. We bet you'll almost be speaking Swedish after a few days!
Does even more splendor beckon on the Costa Blanca? Oh, absolutely. In the Montgo National Park in Jávea, on a whopping 2.500 m² plot, you'll find a villa that ticks all the boxes. Surrounded by Mediterranean vegetation and with the Montgó mountain in its wake, this Spanish holiday destination blends seamlessly into its natural surroundings. With room for ten people, you could almost bring eleven (almost), and the space is perfectly designed for that. Three spacious terraces, a private pool, a pergola, and a spacious outdoor kitchen make it quite a challenge to choose where to settle down first. And while the outdoor living is unmatched, the interior also deserves a round of applause. Earthy tones, robust wooden doors, and classic bathrooms give the accommodation a warm, serene feel. Whether you'll even want to leave the villa remains to be seen. If that's the case, you can stroll through the charming streets of Jávea in just a few minutes and roll out your beach towel by the sea after a ten-minute drive. But let's be honest, there's nothing quite like a dip in your own pool, while the barbecue gently smoulders and the ice cubes clink against the glass.
A destination where you feel like you're walking into a postcard all year round is Norway. We stay at Furuheim Lodge, where you can glide out the door cross-country skiing in winter or be on the slopes in ten minutes. alpine swing descending the ski slopes. Nestled against a mountain with breathtaking views of Lake Nisser, you can take a morning dip in the water, Wim Hof style, and then warm up in the sauna with panoramic views. Hiking, cycling, swimming, boating, fishing: everything is within easy reach to fully immerse yourself in the beautiful nature.
The lodge is made entirely of wood and accommodates nine people. A warm nest, with stunning lake views from the living room at any time of day. Gather around the long dining table for a traditional gourmet dinner (yes, that's what we do here), followed by late-night games beside the crackling fire. Wake up with a cup of coffee on the veranda, as the morning light drifts across the water and the aroma of freshly baked bread wafts in. Whether you choose action or relaxation: all is good.
