Phone away, capture moments: this is why you want to book a wedding content creator
Your grandfather starting a conga line for the first time in twenty years. Your best man quickly checking his cheat sheet right before the speech. Your best friend straightening your veil one last time. Those are exactly the moments you forget the fastest. And those are exactly the moments a wedding content creator captures. It has been a thing in America and Australia for years. Now the trend is sweeping across to Europe as well. And yep, we understand why! Our very own Evi (Bart's Wedding) sees it everywhere around her too: It is really becoming more and more popular. And that says something, because as the wedding planner at By Evi Bespoke Events, she is right in the middle of it.
Whether you are getting married in the polder or under the Italian sun: we have compiled a list of the finest, most fun, and most creative wedding content creators for you. Need even more inspiration? Then dive into our Best of Barts Wedding list.
See it as your personal behind the scenes-buddy. A creator walks with you all day and films and photographs primarily with an iPhone (sometimes also with a camcorder, hello nostalgia). Not a polished film, but real, raw footage. You often have it in your inbox within 24 to 48 hours. So yes: you just watch your wedding back the morning after. With coffee. In bed.
Important: a creator does not replace your photographer or videographer. They are a complement. Your photographer creates the artworks for the wall. Your videographer tells the big story. The creator captures how the day felt.
We believe this is where the real gain lies. You put your phone away. Completely. You don't have to ask anyone if they... first look has filmed. You don't have to think about what you'll post later. Someone else takes care of it, quietly in the background. You are just the bride (or groom). Not the producer of your own wedding.
And no, your day doesn't suddenly revolve around Instagram because of that. A good creator doesn't make you pose or constantly pull you away from your party. They capture what is already happening.
Without a creator, that task often ends up with a bridesmaid, your sister, or that one friend with the best camera. Sweet, but then they experience your vows through a small screen. With a creator, they can simply cry along, dance along, and toast. In fact, you are giving your guests a gift this way too.
You can't be everywhere at once. Your mother secretly grabbing a glass of bubbly at the hairdresser's. The children playing hide-and-seek under the long tables. The florist straightening one last rose. A creator captures those little moments too. That way, you get the complete picture afterwards.
- Choose someone whose style you really like. Scroll through their Instagram; you'll see it immediately.
- Check if the creator works well with your photographer and videographer. They should complement each other, not get in each other's way.
- Ask what you will get: raw footage, edited reels, or both? And within what timeframe?
- Discuss in advance which moments you absolutely want to have captured.
- Not a social media type? No problem. You don't have to post anything. The images can simply remain yours.
- Getting married abroad? Book early, because the best creators travel a lot and fill up fast. Read more tips about getting married abroad. here.
