In the heart of the Douro valley - an undiscovered and beautiful region anyway - you will find a hotel and winery Thursday Nova. Remember that name. A winery unlike any other it is, and since you can stay in the accompanying country house in one of the most highly regarded wine tourism spots in Portugal, we would rather check in yesterday than today. Here you will feel the cozy and warm atmosphere of a Portuguese family home while you are surrounded by a spectacular landscape of the valley and a stretch of the Douro River. The country house is located next to the original winery that was built in 1764. A place where you can really relax and enjoy the wines and delicious food from the restaurant.
The country house has eleven rooms, all overlooking the Douro River. In the morning, a traditional breakfast awaits you at a large farm table. There is more to do here than just enjoy delicious food and wine (which is certainly not a bad idea either). How about taking a walk through the gardens surrounded by ancient trees, cypresses and more? Or take a refreshing dip in the pool overlooking the beautiful vineyards. But perhaps even more fun is to visit the picturesque chapel.
Okay okay and if it's not enough that this is the first winery where you can spend the night, you can also enjoy a delicious meal at the restaurant here Terraçus. Inside you will find an elegant dining room where you can enjoy a... breathtaking view of the outdoor terrace. We cook with seasonal products that you can taste in a three- or five-course dinner.
