Almost open: Arriba Arriba Amsterdam
Gotta love de Rozengracht in Amsterdam! Arriba! Because besides that yours truly lived there for a few years, the street is now also home to a number of catering gems such as Rosies, the inconspicuous TOP restaurant where you should go ASAP, if you haven't already done so. The ChinChin Club of course, what good Chinese food and karaoke. It is the street where you will find my favorite sandwich shop, Broodje Mokum, right next to it Kessens. Café Struik sit there, forget Brine and recently too Little Sal not, and at the very end you will find a consistently good restaurant Mothers. And all of that within those few hundred linear meters.
Whatever was there was the Italian matzo. Sat, because Mazzo is no more. A pity in itself, if it weren't for the fact that when a door closes somewhere, a window swings open. A big window, because the people behind Mazzo (team IQ Creative, who are also behind the hit Happyhappyjoyjoy) are opening on February 1 Arriba Arriba!

And that is very good news because Arriba Arriba will be the youngest colorful Mexican street red hang-out with the city's South American influences. Where we can't get enough of it. The large shop is open 7 days a week (nice) and from around 12 noon you can go there for your taco. cravings (although extensive dining is of course also allowed). Mexico thus, one the 'street language' of the country. Read: food! One of the best things that the country has sent to the rest of the world, besides the warm mentality and colorful looks.
'Appetizers' is what the Mexicans call their outdoor dining culture, sounds good, right? Cravings or really looking forward to it, that means in Dutch, so it better be good. That's the promise: the tacos are made with authentic Mexican tortillas from Taiyari and baked according to the method of the ancient Aztecs. The toppings go from crispy pescado with crispy cabbage and lime to rib-eye with chimichurri and avocado or pulp 'octopus' with sweet potato and pickled onion. Furthermore, healthy salads, taales, richly filled empanadas and others bites like oysters and flautas. So says the press release. And then we wait.... Until February 1, that's it.
