Relax in the Ardennes

Relax in the Ardennes

Sometimes there are places you don't need to explore, but where you can simply unwind. The Ardennes, for example. A few hours in the car and bam: you're breathing in that fresh forest air you didn't even know you were missing. Think misty mornings, steaming cups of coffee, a pile of hiking boots by the door. Wi-Fi? Yes, there is. But are you using it? Not really. Because the Ardennes simply beg to be offline. Or at least, not turned on for a while.

Sleeping among the trees

Sleeping among the trees

Anyone who thinks that nature and comfort don't go together has clearly never experienced it holiday park in the Ardennes from Center Parcs. This holiday park, nestled among the hills near Vielsalm, combines the best of both worlds: forest and luxury. Hot showers, fresh croissants on your doorstep, and an Aqua Mundo where you can take a refreshing dip in the warm water after a day of hiking, mountain biking, or simply lounging on the couch.

The cottages are scattered throughout the woods. Some overlook the lake, while others give you that ultimate cabin feeling. In the evening, light the fireplace, listen to the rain on the roof, and you'll realize why weekends like this should happen more often. There's plenty to do for kids, both indoors and outdoors, and for adults who prefer to relax: wellness centers, infrared saunas, and cozy cottages.

Every season

Every season

The Ardennes are beautiful in every season, but in autumn… wow. The forests glow with gold and copper, hiking trails straight from the park lead past babbling brooks and viewpoints, and afterward, you can settle into a local restaurant for a plate of game stew or a Trappist beer.

In winter, it's wonderfully quiet. A dusting of snow? Jackpot. Inside, by the fireplace, it's extra cozy.

Spring or summer? Then outdoor living is the magic word. Canoeing on the Ourthe River, cycling through green valleys near Durbuy and La Roche, hiking... or if it gets too hot: swimming and sliding in the palm-fringed pool, nestled in the heart of the Belgian forests.

Cooking in your cottage with local cheeses and charcuterie from the market? Or perhaps dining out at the park restaurant? Anything goes. Everything is relaxed. And in the villages around Vielsalm, you'll find small brasseries with hearty Ardennes fare and slow, charming service. Just the way a holiday should be.

The Ardennes show you that luxury isn't about designer lamps or room service. Sometimes luxury is simply: silence, forest, time. A place where you can do everything, or nothing at all. Where you can recharge, without any hassle. With a croissant in hand, a view of the forest, and the comforting knowledge that nothing else is on the agenda.
