This novel centers on the story of Feyre, who kills a wolf and is taken to the enemy fairy kingdom of Pryhtian in retaliation by a beastly creature. Spoiler alert: her captor turns out not to be a terrifying beast, but a handsome landlord who suffers from a rather annoying curse. It is Feyre's job to break that curse. A wonderful series that you should definitely read through, because the second book is even better than the first.

'The Colors of Magic' is set not in one, but in four different versions of London. Kell is a blood mage who can travel between different versions of the city. He becomes friends with in one of those parallel worlds badass pickpocket Lila and together they take on a lot of bad guys. Great: this book also has two sequels, so you can continue reading once you've finished it.
