6 x the best places for a first date (or a second, or for date night, always good too)
Where oh where are you going for you first date? This must be a versatile, but also neutral catering location and that often turns out to be quite difficult... Tables not right next to each other is an advantage and you also want to be able to either quickly get on your feet or stretch for hours. There must be something to see, if there is a lack of conversation material, in terms of timing it must be pleasant around the drinks hour and if there is too much conversation material, preferably with the option of dinner. And then everything must also be in good taste. A number of options in a number of cities where you can't go wrong. Or well, it certainly won't be due to the location.
Dinner with a first date remains difficult: if it's fun, it can last hours, if it's a mismatch, you want to get away after the soup. If it is an I-don't know, then it is important that there is at least plenty to talk about (or with). The best tip in all that category? Restaurant Jansz. The heart of Amsterdam and the restaurant must appeal to almost everyone: girls-girls (because pink curtains), men-men (because big and light and vandal-proof), foodies (because leaky), what-the-farmer-doesn't-know-he-doesn't-eat (because there's plenty of 'normal' food on the menu), insecure couples (the staff chats, if you like, for three) and go-away couples (the staff can also be very discreet). Is it fun? Then you dive into the Pulitzer Bar. Is it even more fun? Then book a room immediately. Jansz
Louie Louie is one of the businesses of the so-called Three Wise Men from the East and that, those owners, is a good first topic of conversation); three young men who single-handedly took over the Amsterdam catering scene, gave it their own flavor, and have already taken care of eleven locations, all eleven equally popular. What makes Louie Louie one of the best is the uncomplicatedness of the place: no hip stuff but a tasteful grand café as it was intended. Secluded corners, high and low seats and a menu full of small, charming snacks. Louie Louie

Perhaps the best tip for the gentlemen: at Le Jardin in Utrecht you can score a flower for your date upon arrival in the indoor flower shop - corney maybe not a date who doesn't appreciate it (although you can count on a pfff reaction, but don't be fooled). Furthermore, the café is a green-blue ode to good taste, from coffee to drinks to dinner and on summer days the terrace on the cozy square in front of the door is highly recommended. Le Jardin
