Villa Ippocampi on the – surprisingly beautiful! – Crete is a place to dream away. Stunningly beautiful and far away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Lydia and Nikos built Villa Ippocampi themselves and receive their guests so warmly that this is an address where you want to return again and again.

Villa Ippocampi is a true Greek beauty; a white-plastered villa with blue shutters and a lovely garden full of lavender, jasmine, olive and orange trees. The swimming pool and the outdoor bar are centrally located, where you can drink your cappuccino in the morning while swinging in one of the relaxing hanging chairs and linger in the evening when the sun sets. The beds at the edge of the water require a little siesta, it is a holiday after all.

There are eleven apartments and two penthouse suites at Villa Ippocampi; all equally comfortable and furnished with a perfect sense of style. Minimalist, light and some rooms with a view that no painting can match. You will also feel the love with which the villa was built and decorated by hand as soon as you meet owners Nikos and Lydia. Villa Ippocampi is a small-scale and attractive holiday accommodation where you will be fully recharged in no time.

Location, location, location

Villa Ippocampi is located between the sea and the mountains, in the high village of Koutouloufari in the north of Crete. 1 kilometer from the sea, near Chersonissos and 25 kilometers from Heraklion airport. There is a small supermarket and bakery within strolling distance and Piscopiano is a cozy village nearby. To the rest of it -surprising! – To discover the beautiful island, it is best to rent a car.

On the Greek island of Crete it is pleasant to bronze from April and summer continues until November. The perfect time to visit Villa Ippocampi? That must be in May when everything starts to bloom and the beaches are still deserted. The sea temperature varies between 20 and 26 degrees all year round; perfect for a splash in between.

The eye wants something too

The villa breathes Greek tradition, but is still completely contemporary thanks to the minimalist furnishings. The house is plastered white and all shutters, frames and doors are dark blue. The terracotta floors provide a warm touch. We especially like all the cozy corners with soft cushions in and around the apartments. Add to that the blooming lemon and orange trees, enormous bushes of lavender and beautiful flowers and you have the perfect holiday picture.

Keffers & Kroost

Neither, but sometimes tasty. Villa Ippocampi is adults-only (16+); ideal for lazy mornings, a swimming pool without inflatable unicorns and that get-away-from-it-all feeling. An accommodation that calls for a romantic getaway or a holiday with friends. And did someone there say honeymoon destination?
