Country estate De Hoorneboeg, Hilversumse Hei
We fell a little in love this summer Hoorneboeg country estate. This ultimate oasis of peace and nature is located in its own country, ha! Bart's Soul Hissedr Maud was up this summer roadtrip from Ibiza to the Netherlands and discovered that - even in the Soul field - there is more and more beautiful things to be found in our own country. The paradise in question is located directly on the Hilversummer heath (which was also in full purple bloom this month, a icing on the equally purple (and also delicious and of course vegan) cake).
This ancient place has a rich history and served hundreds of years ago as a location for people looking for peace, space and themselves. In 2018, a group of enthusiastic initiators breathed new life into the country estate with the aim of turning the Hoorneboeg to create a place where people come into contact with nature, with others and with themselves. A place for personal development, connection and spirituality, to make the world a little more beautiful. Nowadays a rich program is offered here in the field of awareness and self-insight. Think of yoga and detox weekends, philosophical retreats, silent days, stress release sessions and a real forest bath retreat. But you can also go here for workshops such as 'Find your dream job' or a 'Female leadership' training. If all this makes your heart beat faster, then be sure to check it out current program overview.
This magical country estate does not have to rely solely on its attractive programming. We are just as complimentary about the beautiful setting. The two charming sheep farms on the estate have been converted into luxury retreat spaces with extremely comfortable and very stylishly furnished living and sleeping areas. A sleek, fresh yoga room with a view of the breathtaking garden where - if the weather is nice - you can lie on your mat among the wild field flowers and centuries-old tall oak trees, right next to that previously famous vast purple heather.
In addition to the 18th century farms, there are even more characteristic monuments from bygone eras hidden in the forest on the estate. These also offer space for team sessions, training or retreats, aimed at personal development in the broadest sense of the word. You will also find a restaurant on site At The Gardener, which team Bart was recently introduced to.
At the beginning of this month we had the pleasure of being part of a very special yoga weekend at De Hoorneboeg, under the guidance of Afke Reijenga (summer crush no. 2 it is). A report about what that was like and about all the special things she has in store for us in the coming months, and certainly more later. A tip of the veil is her Magical Ibiza Retreat in October in -of course- Ibiza. Look, the circle has come full circle again.
