The best pizzeria in Utrecht: O'Panuozzo
Rome has the Colosseum, Pisa has its tower, and Naples has its own pizza. It is an endless discussion about who has the best pizzas in Italy, but we agree with the Neapolitans: they make damn tasty pizzas. When it comes to Italian cuisine in Utrecht, we can't ignore it O'Panuozzo to. You will find O'Panuozzo in Mariastraat (our favorite) and on Voorstraat. Don't expect a relaxing dinner with soft noise in the background. Chaos, hustle and bustle (they are Italians after all), conviviality and delicious food brick oven pizzas that you will still dream of at home form the basis for the O'Panuozzoexperience.
The Neapolitan pizza distinguishes itself from the Roman pizza by, among other things, the preparation method of the dough (without olive oil), the size and the baking time. The result? A delicious pizza that we will keep coming back for. We are not the only fans of this pizzeria. Expect there to be a long line in front of the restaurant (and we're willing to wait a while for a good pizza).
The perfect dinner for two at O'Panuozzo consists of a bottle of red wine, a very generous appetizer board as a starter, a pizza (are you going for a classic or something special?) and if there is still some room, tiramisu to share and who even enjoy a glass of ice-cold homemade limoncello. Then we roll home.
