Home wasn't built in a day... If anyone understands that, then it is formally known as jurist Merel leConge Klein. That started with a love for beautiful things, became a 'garage sale' and resulted in 2011 with De CAMER. Okay okay okay, that needs some extra explanation. We have. The ROOM functioned as an interior platform that organized sales at regular intervals. That loose-fixed stopped when Merel found a permanent address at the Frederiksplein in early 2017 (around the corner from the Utrechtsestraat, the beginning of De Pijp, that awesome but often overlooked building that already housed several (catering) concepts - which we consistently praise on this site). That fantastic building consists of two parts: on the right a piped-in space (where a kitchen used to be), on the left a gigantic renovated garage with a skylight through which the daylight falls beautifully. As mentioned, the building had several destinations in recent years... And now Merel is trying her luck with De Camer and Frederik6 Amsterdam.

On the right was the place for De CAMER: a mini-store full of mouth-wateringly beautiful stuff. But really mouth-watering. We want everything - EVERYTHING. Also nice: the prices vary from very affordable (including crazy sustainable 'disposable' tableware, idiot-proof) to evensparenmaarhetishetworth it (I have to have that rug). 

On the left, in the previously mentioned garage, a large wine shop was built in the front - Wine Supply (also recommended!) - and in the back there was room for Frederik6. Pardon? More? Yes, but in line with the CAMER. With Frederik6 (the address, easy to remember) Merel & co are going to make companies and offices within the creative sector special. Think of delivering eye-catchers and unique items that give a company/office its own character and taste, and they provide advice and styling for often difficult to furnish (office) spaces. Art and objects, big and small. And tips & tricks. Nice.

At the moment, there are works by Spanish artist “Ignacio Almeida” and “Moon” hanging on the wall in Frederik6. Moon is a talented Dutch artist inspired by Picasso and Van Dongen but completely her own style with a good sense of color schemes. By the way, the awesome space is also for rent (party, anyone?) for lifestyle events, workshops, pop up stores, photo shoots and food events.
