Good ol' English Breakfast. What do we think? We like it quite a bit from time to time. But unfortunately, while in England you get it served on every corner, things are different here in Amsterdam. But there are certainly good places to find a good start to the day. You understand: at this English Breakfast in Amsterdam. Save them all!

A sweet English tea house with an Amsterdam edge and a very nice beer and snack menu: that is The Cottage in Amsterdam East. For breakfast, brunch, lunch & drinks. Bam. All that, comfort comfort comfort, in a very cozy green-yellow room with beautiful old school porcelain Heinekentap. With an old Dutch print, you-know-what. Nice. And of course that excellent breakfast (also a vegetarian and vegan version) and with homemade baked beans!
Green woods can be found on the Singel and on the Keizersgracht and both are good, cozy and have a great English Breakfast. Not the cheapest place, but one of the tastiest and so big that you will probably be full until dinner. In addition to the 'normal' English breakfast, they have many more good breakfast/lunch dishes (the Pancake Breakfast Stack is highly recommended), lots of juices and a range of teas (but with your breakfast you of course drink pitch black English tea with a dash of milk).
You will find Prins Heerlijk on the Prins Hendrikkade, which is also a prime location if you want to have a good breakfast and then continue to CS. The most beautiful and hippest tent? No, but it is pleasant and with dishes for reasonable prices. If you really want to spend a morning for your breakfast, choose one of the other places from this list, but if you are on the go-go-go tour and you want to lay a good foundation, then the English Breakfast at Prins Heerlijk is a great option. choice.
Delicious coffee, a (fortunately not too) extensive menu with a very nice croque madame and a just-a-little-better-than-normal English Breakfast. It may be the sourdough bread or the homemade tomato chutney, but this is one with an extra. Lovely terrace for people watching: a mix of tourists getting on their bikes for the first time, broke students just coming home and opposite the police station. So there's always something to see. Oh, the brioche always goes well too. You can also sit inside, where you can have a nice chat with the baristas.
Just behind the dam you will find an Irish pub O'reilleys. Yes, Irish, so technically this is a full Irish breakfast, but because there isn't one black pudding (and that is part of a full Irish), we think it certainly fits into the English Breakfast category. You do get potatoes with it, which is typically Irish. Just good pub grub. A pint of Guinness on the side, some HP brown sauce and the day can begin. By the way, they serve breakfast until 17:00 PM and it is also a very good hangover cure; this breakfast and a pint of Guinness by the way.
While you will find all the above places in the center of Amsterdam, this one is a little further away. Nhow RAI is in Amsterdam South (easily accessible by the north-south line) and because it is not in the center, an English breakfast at Nhow Rai has something that all these other places do not have: a fantastic view. But really, with good weather you can almost wave to London. And breakfast at the hotel is also an outing. With a very extensive buffet (waffle bar, lots of fresh fruit, a granola table), they also offer an English Breakfast, but with the new plant-based sausages from Garden Gourmet. Tastes and looks like a 'sausage', but is vegan and contains much less fat. Eggs, baked beans, toast, tomato: of course that's also there.
