The best festivals (at home and abroad!) for the whole family that we are looking forward to in 2022
Very nice, those lists dance festivals in 2022 en beer festivals 2022, but hey, we also have some kids at home... Dear parents, don't panic: you can also take those kids with you to quite a few great festivals! You read that right, here is a - which continues to grow - list of festivals in various places in Europe. Where we can enjoy ourselves and the kids can also enjoy themselves endlessly. And that´s it: the best festivals for the whole family that we are looking forward to in 2022.
From May 26 to 29, 2022, young and old will come together again in the Rembrandt Park in Amsterdam to enjoy the French Champagne festival: Fête du Champagne. Bubbles, music, high-quality French dishes and tastings. : “Avec toi je suis Fête” is the motto of this third summer edition. We are welcomed with open arms and a free glass of bubbles, doubting is of course no longer possible. Go go go Fête du Champagne!
On June 12, 2022, Parkpop will celebrate its 40th (!) edition on the Malieveld in the center of The Hague. The program includes well-known national and international artists and, believe us, this will be a big party. Dance, sing along, enjoy the surroundings and participate in various fun activities. Aii, just missed that festival or have something else planned: this probably won't happen to you anytime soon during the Arcadia event in Friesland. Friesland erupts during the cultural hundred days of Arcadia, no less than a hundred days. The question is whether we can really call it a festival, but a cultural event like this cannot be missed on this list. Fun for the little ones thanks to, for example, a walking forest and theater on ice rinks.
Arcadia is entirely dedicated to our planet, but not with boring lectures, but with theater, dance, singing, photography, lectures, discussions, walks, visual arts, literature and poetry. On the site you will find an extensive program, where you can see in advance what you can do with the little ones.
From September 1 to 4, 2022 we can be found at Into The Great Wide Open on Vlieland. In the middle of nature, on the nicest Wadden Island in the Netherlands (we honestly think). Music, art, film and children's activities, oysters from the mudflats, freshly caught sea bass. Going crazy on a festival field and campfire songs on the beach, what more could you want?

During Ascension weekend, from Thursday 26 to Sunday 29 May 2022, the “puppets are dancing” at Hemeltjelief Festival on the NDSM wharf in Amsterdam. For 4 days, the NDSM wharf is one big puppet theatre where funny performances, special shows (with DJ and live music), food trucks and children's activities take place. There is plenty to see and do for young and old during the day, in the evening and at night.
On May 13, 14 and 15 you will feel like an outlaw at Birds Festivalk at House of Birds in the Diemerbos. The entire site will be converted for three days into a free (always nice) accessible 'Festivalk' for young and old. Expect lots of music, food trucks, tastings, nature excursions, lounge areas, silent disc, children's theatre, live DJs, an inflatable cushion and much more creativity!
Not one, but two major summer performances that will be played in the Bostheater this year. The Amsterdamse Bostheater is the open-air theater in the middle of the Amsterdamse Bos and is one of the largest theater stages in the Netherlands. Every year the Bostheater invites a major Dutch theater company to collaborate on a new summer production (hello good looking line-up! Go check it out). And much more fun to do. The gates of the Bostheater will open from May 21.
A weekend in the beautiful surroundings of Glen Fyne in Scotland, on June 4 and 5 we will be festival at FyneFest. FyneFest is a family-friendly beer, food and music festival. With over 200 beers to choose from, 30 live bands and an incredible array of the best street food vendors, we're certainly having a good time.

You may not take the little ones here, but it is perfect to go with your teenage child. The Sziget Festival, one of Europe's most famous music festivals and we understand why. Artists like Justin Bieber, Arctic Monkeys, Dua Lipa and many others icons who are on stage and in beautiful Budapest... This is where we want to be: from August 10 to 15, 2022 on The Island of Freedom in Budapest.
On to the UK for the weekend: from June 3 to 6, 2022 we will have fun at the Wychwood Festival. Wychwood is a family festival at the famous Cheltenham Racecourse in the UK and has a program packed with music and activities for all ages. The line-up consists of music, dance, comedy and art. After a long day we sleep in very nice tepees, the fun doesn't stop…
