Botanical food hall Malt: we already love that
We previously wrote that we love the concept of a food hall, but now we have another scoop. In the category just - but really just (read: May 2022) - it has been opened there food hall MOUT in Venlo. Hang out the flags, because the south of the country has a food hall richer. Previously, the same creative entrepreneurs opened this concept in Hilversum, but now MOUT has also expanded outside 't Gooi. The former museum now houses the food hall and... looks & feels of the old museum have been preserved. We like!

There are eight different kitchens in the MOUT food hall: something for everyone. Even for the difficult ones 'I-don't-like-this'– eaters among us. Or the kids. From Italy to Mexico and from New York to Vietnam: everybody is present in the streetfoodhall. It's never too early for some 'favourites', so here you go: the diamond tenderloin with chimichurri from Caliente and the poke bowls from Beej Wim. Finger lickin' good, too delicious. Classics such as a large platter of fruits de mer, with a glass of bubbles of course on the side, are of course also present. Also for breakfast (such as coconut yogurt with granola and fruit) and healthy juices, you've come to the right place at MOUT. Brouwerij de Klep proves that it does not always have to come from far away to be good. The local brewery opens their own brewing installation in MOUT with the opening of the food hall. 12 local, different Klep beers will be available on tap here. You shout: they tap. Win-win.
The looks of MOUT? Botanical, that's the right word. At the heart of the food hall is a gigantic, transparent glass greenhouse surrounded by plants, long wooden tables, enormous trees and crystal-clear windows. Because there is a lot, let's say a lot, of glass, you can enjoy looking outside with a snack in your hand. The concept? Outside continues inside and inside feels like outside, that idea. Did we already mention the great location? MOUT is located in the middle of a park, surrounded by greenery. On a warm late summer evening you can relax here on the various terraces. These have a festival vibe, but then tres chic. Think of post-lighting, long wooden tables, handsome chairs and large olive trees. Perfect for a long evening of drinks.
Enough space to sit, the choice is huge when it comes to food and drinks, park view present and open 7 days a week (even on Sundays they are open at 09.00 a.m., for your ahem possible hangover breakfast): MOUT ticks all the boxes and can only be a success. Guaranteed that you will be found here regularly; to work, have a drink with friends or let the kids out on a sunny summer day. So on to the south of the country, on to MOUT!
