Friet District, The Hague

New in The Hague, and already one of our favorites for a fatty but not so bad bite: Fries District gets it. The stylishly decorated shop is located in the popular Prinsestraat (yes, a stylish place for fries, once again proof: it is really possible - also read about De Pieper in Utrecht for example) with two young men behind the chip shop in the middle of the shop. Young entrepreneurs, who already run a Michelin-starred restaurant in Rijswijk, decided to (also) try their luck in The Hague. And with a real chip shop. Two of their best employees went into the kitchen – stylishly dressed in an apron including a bow tie – to cut the potatoes for the fresh fries, of course organic potatoes, fresh from the field. And then we haven't even started about the delicious sauces that Friet District has specially made. How about truffle mayonnaise, for example? Simply delicious. You will also find Friet District at Friet District snacks as croquettes, satay or stew, the fresh lemonades from Fentlmans (the pink, rose flavour!) and for dessert, artisanal Italian ice cream. Or leave one of the latter on the spot milkshake to make. Friet District may be a chip shop, but it is a tasty snack Class. Not to mention the high instagram-worthy interior (cacti, brick walls, copper accents, they have it all). You can pick up your fries, sit by the window and look out over the Prinsestraat or sink into the large black chairs at the back of the shop at a large table. And the kitchen is equipped with a top extraction system, so you won't leave the shop smelling like a fryer. We can get used to fries with class. Fries District.
