France in our own country at Gasterie de Lieve Hemel in Sevenum
Lavender-colored shutters, the smell of France (yes really!), bistro chairs in the pebble garden, a covered terrace with grape vines and a French chanson in the background. Arrived in France? Yes, we hear you thinking, but don't worry: this pearl of a charming hotel - a characteristic farmhouse from 1895 - can be found in our own country. In a beautiful location, surrounded by the rich greenery of the Peel area with a restaurant and a wine shop. Sounds good, nun? France in Limbourgois, that's how you do it Gasterie de Lieve Hemel in sevenum must describe.
If you are in Limburg, you should take a look here all kinds of tips and things to do in Limburg.
This charming Chambres d'Hôtes has seven guest rooms - each named after a type of wine - including one garden room and a family room. It also has two independent apartments. With the latter you have your own wood stove and the children sleep in a 'bed cupboard'. How nice! And that's all in your own style: blue, charming, chandeliers, nostalgia and lovely linen. The nice thing about the design? Over the years, owners Marcel and Heidy have collected everything themselves from markets in France, resulting in a perfect mix between old and new. Some rooms even have roll top baths, oh my. What else do you get extra? Do you have a moment? A large garden with swimming pond - from the self-contained apartments you have a great view -, jeu de boules court (yesyesyes), large playing field for the children and crispy fresh croissants for breakfast. There is also a sauna and a Dutch Tub that you can book separately, as well as massages. Imagine: sipping a good glass of wine – leave that to the owners to serve it – you settle down in the garden for a wonderful evening. With really (but really) a lot of cheese and wine. In other words: just charge.
Wine evenings (including oyster slurping) are held on Friday evenings, during the weekend you can come along for a Sunday lunch and there is always a 2CV ready with which you can discover the Peel while chugging along. With a picnic basket, a route and wine. You can buy this wine in their own wine shop where the wine is imported directly from France. Can't get enough of it? The owners organize real wine tours to France. But even though we are a hotel debotel of France (gee), you don't have to go further than Limburg to get this feeling and enjoy it. The place that the owners have created here is truly beautiful and guarantees a carefree time. A dream, or in French: un rêve.
