Wonderfully simple restaurants in Mallorca that you probably didn't know about yet
Anyone who turns their nose up at simple restaurants where everything is a bit old-fashioned (and where the bill can take hours to arrive) should not go to one of these wonderfully simple restaurants in Mallorca that you probably haven't heard of yet.
We think Sa Foradada, the simple paella restaurant with a fantastic view, precisely so that simplicity is not to be despised. The old chef clearly enjoys his work in the open kitchen and we have never eaten paella better anywhere in Mallorca. If you don't want to leave the holiday town of Sóller (recommended: look for your holiday address here or nearby), then it becomes a bit difficult: most restaurants are best reached by car, the eternal problem with cute-looking towns is holiday islands. But there is hope: duck into a small alley (Google Maps is not an unnecessary luxury) and have a meal tapas bar Casa Alvaro. It's best to sit outside, but if you haven't made a reservation, you can always find a seat inside. More than friendly service, typical Spanish tapas and ditto paella for friendly prices.
Also remote, but on the coast in Cala Tuent is a restaurant Es Vergeret a must go for 45 years. It is located on one of the pristine white beaches in the northwest and the paella is fantastic. Open every day until 18 p.m., after that it is too dark here.
In the wildly attractive town of Deià, the main street is mainly intended for a tourist walk, although Restaurant Nama is a good final destination for those who fancy modern, mind you, Asian cuisine. Something different. Make a reservation and ask for one of the tables at the back by the open window: there you look out over the Deià valley.
La Rosa Vermuteria & Colmado is the coziest and most stylish Vermut bar in Palma. Book a table in the window or at the bar around 21:00 PM to 22:00 PM and you will have a great night out. Also not unimportant: dYou immediately want to copy the entire decoration to your own kitchen. Normally I really like wines, but here I normally drink the Vermut 5 petalos - 5 petals. Not too sweet and with a nice bitterness. More tips? Sure! My favorites on the menu are tomatoes variados (that's a simple tomato salad but the tomatoes are oh so tasty from the island!) and the pulp a feira (or well, actually all dishes with pulpo).
Curfew literally means curfew. That's funny because this restaurant has been around for at least 8 years and it was one of the first Spanish words I learned here because yes... Covid and what time exactly does the bar close, I wanted, no, I had to know). This restaurant is located in an old bakery and has left the centuries-old oven in the building, the owner told me that it was the oldest oven on the island. It is cozy and relaxed. You also have various seating areas where you can sit with a group.
Friendly staff, tasty tapas and they serve the champagne in a champagne coupe (as it should be).
