Historical house in Makkum, Friesland
Fryslan forever boppe. Just cross the Afsluitdijk and then, bang-boom, peace and space. But also wonderful harbor towns, the best vintage finds and one cool coffee shop after another that swings open its doors. Staying over for a while? Just do it. And then for example in this historic house at the bottom of the Makkum sea wall. A pearl, we think.
Makkum it is. Perfect location, between favorite cities Harlingen, Workum and Sneek. Right on the water and close to the Afsluitdijk. Loved by the water sports enthusiasts among us, but also by the Friesland fans who come for the relaxed atmosphere. Only Makkum Beach… meh, not our kind of resort. The alternative is much nicer and cozier. This holiday home at the bottom of the sea wall of the historic town is exactly what you are looking for. Makkum is too beautiful to miss.
The house has recently been completely renovated: completely renovated, sleek paint and a beautiful kitchen. Craftsmanship, you can see that. Not surprising, because the owners are also responsible for the construction of it tall ship Wylde Swan, of which you see elements recurring. Everything has been completely refreshed both inside and outside, resulting in 100m2 of living space and a small but nice garden at the back. The cottage has two double rooms and two small but cozy single rooms. A baby cot is available upon request Slash box is placed.
Fortunately, the old details were preserved during the extensive renovation. In fact, the house exudes a rich history. Beautiful wooden beams, Frisian tiles from Tichelaar on the floor. And we haven't even talked about the place yet. On the Makkum dike where you can easily climb over the fence to look at the boats. Best moment of the day: when the sun turns the sky pink in the evening, the wind starts to blow gently and you start your evening walk on the dike and among the sheep. It doesn't get more Frisian than that.
