Summer or winter in the Austrian Alps? Stop searching, Hotel the cōmodo is the name
Only going to the Alps for the winter? Nope, we want to all year long. It won't be due to the area (duhh), but looking for a nice hotel is not always easy. Of course a hotel must be practical, but we also want to treat the eyes. Problems solved, step into the cōmodo in the Austrian Alps (Bad Gastein).. You can focus on the environment again. Okay and on to the hotel, because that's not the least. So are you going to the Austrian Alps? Stop searching, Hotel the comodo is the name.
The hotel has been open since the end of January 2023 and it may already be clear to you that we are fans. Why? Boutique hotel the cōmodo in the Austrian Alps is a daring design hotel from the cōmodo brand (more to follow) and that can be seen everywhere.
It used to be an old clinic, but now it has a mid-century vibe. To make it even clearer: it is a design hotel with 70 rooms that will be available all year round from the opening in January (hello summer walks and hello winter fun). All this located in Bad Gastein. And that is anyway a very nice place for both summer and winter.
Ok, back to the hotel. Art plays the leading role here with a mix of old and new. Sustainability and self-sufficiency are paramount. Think of thermal water for spa treatments with its own mountain spring.
What always makes a hotel in the mountains so nice is when the lobby is a living room-like space. They really hit the nail on the head here. It is a place to meet, have a drink and get together (with a fireplace - is it winter yet?).
when we When we are in the Alps, we want to eat good food. Also check here. The restaurant even has a view of the mountains. There you are with your organic wine, classic cocktail and Austrian dishes (with a modern touch) in a 'farm-to-tableconcept. Everything local, because you don't have to look far at this location.
And then we pay attention to the extras. A bit luxurious, but there are co-working spaces, a fitness and yoga studio and a boutique cinema. Treatments are provided in the spa (complete with treatment rooms, two saunas and an indoor and outdoor pool).
The Berlin-based agency weStudio, with Piotr Wisniewski as lead designer, is responsible for the architectural concept, master planning and interior design.
And if all that gets boring, certainly not, but also something nice: because art plays a leading role in the cōmodo, the Berlin duo Gosia Warrink and Katja Koeberlin from AMBERDESIGN have created unique works of art for the hotel.
