Hotel Riomar, Ibiza – family hotel with great value for money
Yes, but... Why are the hotels empty? Ibiza Isn't it all so expensive? Well, it must be said: Ibiza is not a cheap island, that much is certain. But we're glad we found it there! A very nice discovery Hotel Riomar Ibiza, on the beach at Santa Eulària des Riu (you can walk to the center) in the southeast of the island. Those are already three advantages (location, beach, very nice town) and we haven't even talked about the looks of the hotel (amazing), the swimming pool (wonderful), the catering industry (you want it), the room ( luxurious and comfortable) and last but most certainly not least: the very sweet, nice staff. A real discovery, if we say so ourselves.

Are you googling for Hotel Riomar Ibiza, then you might just read some mixed reviews. That's true: not so long ago (the time of writing is summer 2022), the hotel was still a place where you mainly found retirees. The looks weren't there yet and the restaurant wasn't anything to write home about. That was once! The hotel received a fantastic makeover - just check the pictures, they say more than 1000 words, extra attention was paid to comfort and the events and catering industry also received a boost. What remained was the love of the owners for the hotel they run and you notice that in everything.
It's a party from the moment you get out of your car or taxi. Literally: one step on the sidewalk and a lovely hotel employee is ready to help you with your suitcases and/or kids (so nice) and you have a carton of (cardboard, not plastic) water in your hands. Hey. That's coming along nicely. That feeling doesn't end for the rest of your holiday: no question is too much (such as making baby food: a hand blender was found especially for us and every day we had a fresh snack for the mini) and basically anything is possible.
To start the day fresh and good, a slightly lower (and therefore quiet) area behind the swimming pool was partly covered. A yoga class is given here every morning at 8.00:XNUMX am. For the rest of the day it is the place where you can find peace undisturbed or where you can get your massage! For this purpose a very good (tried and tested) masseur hired from the island; So you must inform reception (one day) in advance that you want this. Go ahead. Makes you happy.
We like to spend most of the day at the pool and on the beach in front of our door. Both have nice, large, comfortable beds with ditto towels from the hotel (we always find this a wonderful luxury if this is properly arranged). What is also very well organised, is the 'class' of those beds. No bed reservation promotions here and then not showing yourself for half the day: if a bed remains empty for half an hour, it is for the next patient. A rule that we would like to see implemented everywhere.
It has been said before and we are happy to repeat it again: our favorite hotels are hotels that not only provide a good dose of interior inspiration (because that is true), but are especially the hotels where the restaurants we fleek are. One of those bars and restaurants where you (and not just you) want to be even if you are not staying somewhere (but even more so if that is the case). Then you can let the baby monitor do its work and you will also benefit from your evening. Win-win. You understand: that is also the case at Hotel Riomar Ibiza. A very nice restaurant with exactly the dishes you want during your summer holidays. Calamaris, edamame beans, a very good pasta, a great burger and more. Ocean Brasserie is the name. Just remember it.
And then rolling upstairs where the rooms are beautiful, spacious and luxurious and have an amazing view over the sea. Ha. Holiday. We already said it.
