Ibiza with the kids, these are the nicest places
If there is a European island that appeals to the imagination, it is Ibiza. The bohemian-hippie lifestyle that still prevails, the many beaches, the breathtaking sunsets and of course a vibrant nightlife (and the food!) make Ibiza simply a dream destination for many people. But we still hear ourselves saying it, about six years ago: will we only go again when we have kids? Shouldn't we see more of the world, or at least Europe, before we're stuck with Ibiza every year...? Partly it happened: we went when we had kids (but we didn't stop for a year in between, oops). Because in addition to everything listed above, Ibiza is an excellently child-friendly island. It is small and clear, the bays are numerous and you don't need to do much at all to feel like you have done a lot.

It is our most favorite postal code in Ibiza: the small village of Santa Gertrudis. Santa Gertrudis de Fruitera to be complete. In the center of the island, a little to the north, it is an uncomplicated holiday village where you have been enjoying very affordable tapas at Bar Costa for years (just wait a bit when it is busy: the turnover is high and the prices low, so it is worth it) or the very, very, most delicious focaccia Bottega il Buco. Dive into one of the small shops, but be sure to shop as well the many galleries not about.
If there is a reason for your trip to Santa Gertrudis, let it be the shop Number 74 are. The most beautiful and soft fabrics for your home and for the body of your offspring come straight from the Spanish island and are sold at the beautiful Nummero 74. And not only that: it is also a delicious pit stop for a cake and something to drink (the kids can play in the kitchen) and you can go there for the best workshops for young and old.

Can Sastre is located near the village of Santa Gertrudis in the middle of Ibiza, exactly where you want to be. Off the beaten track and yet a maximum 20-minute drive from the best places on the island.
Now we tend to believe that what works for one family may not be the same for another. And that the staff on that particular afternoon or evening can make or break your dinner - all true. But still: Cas Costas Ibiza restaurant is a really relaxing one for those who are staying in Ibiza with kids. Nice, hip but not all about seeing and being seen, a nice children's menu, a good terrace and a nice indoor one (the restaurant is open all year round) and not far from Ibiza Town. We approve (more than!)!

Ibiza, yes. 100%. But definitely go to Formentera! For most kids, just the trip there (if you take the fast boat, it's only half an hour - really fun) is a gift, let alone the white, quiet, wonderful island with the most beautiful, incredibly child-friendly beaches (white sand, quiet seas, uncomplicated catering).

You may have already heard of the organic farm Terra Masia Ibiza heard (we wrote a whole article about it, which you can read here Terra Masia link)? If not: write it down too! But Can Muson is, if possible, even more authentic. The small farm grows fruit and vegetables and keeps some animals. You can do some shopping there (everything fresher than fresh) and sit down for a delicious, uncomplicated lunch. Can Muson is also really fun for children: there is a playground and a sandbox and at regular intervals little ones can come along to feed the animals or pick fruit.
We think it is one of the nicest beaches Cala Gracioneta. Indeed, that is not the 'cala' you read above, but a delicious bay that is both popular and not to be missed. The sunbeds are priceless and if you arrive too late, you won't find a spot. But (but!) the bay is nice and shallow, so make sure you make an early lunch reservation and are on the beach around 9 or 10:XNUMX, then you have the best of all worlds: a parking spot right in front of the door, place on the beach and a delicious lunch. If you drive another five minutes, you will recover Cala Salada. Indeed, yet another beach than mentioned above and here too you have to be on time in high season to be allowed into the parking lot. Doing! Because you can only reach Cala Salada - a nice (pebble) beach with very affordable beds and a simple beach restaurant. Cala Saladeta, the topic of conversation and the most beautiful sandy beach with the clearest water that I know (in 2021) in Ibiza. You get there by climbing the rock (you can see that for yourself and it is not very exciting, although you do have to carry small children occasionally) and descending again. But then… Paradise! Promise. There is no permanent catering industry, but there are boys and girls constantly coming and going with food and drinks. And Dutch? You don't hear that. Just how we like Ibiza to be.

But okay, then you would like to know what the best family beaches are, of course. We have too. As far as we are concerned these are:
- Cala Boix
- Platja Pou d'es Lleo
- Cala Sant Vicent (a bit bigger. Go to Hidden Ibiza and/or to The Boathouse)
- Platges de Comte (large and commercial, but that is sometimes really tasty)
- Cala Carbó (no sand, but a great family beach)
