The Hoxton Hotel, Amsterdam
First there was the affordable and cool (because with an unmissable fireplace hanging corner) Hoxton Hotel in the then not very hip but now 'spot-on' neighborhood of Shoreditch. That was good news. Then the news got better, better above all, when we entered the second location Holborn opened. And now it's Amsterdam's turn! Good news indeed, also (especially) for the people of Amsterdam themselves. It works like this: in addition to the 111 rooms (wholly pretty, in grayish shades of blue and brown and with leather bed support, just to name a few highlights) in the new hotel that is built in 6 (!) attached canal houses (3 on the Singel and 3 on the Herengracht where the front door is located, (butts together), the lobby is the place where you want to be. Beautiful, first of all, but also the place to relax with your laptop for (work) discussions or other pressing stories (without a laptop). Then you can immediately enjoy a healthy and delicious breakfast (recommended: the mezzanine), or have a cocktail at the bar. Immediately next to it is the restaurant - if you want to sit down (more about the menu will come as soon as possible) and, really nice, behind it 'The Apartment'. Say what? Well, The Apartment is a spacious apartment like a 'real' apartment. So with a kitchen, a playroom, a living room and a patio in the middle (with a tree), all in the wonderful Hoxton atmosphere. Not for sleeping, but for all the parties that the group organizes under the name #hoxtown. Or for a private party (suggestion: 'yes, I want to'). Monday July 13, 2015 officially open to the public and already Amsterdam's coolest. Hoxton Amsterdam
