Brand new (luxury!) campsites in greenery (or 'just' really nice campsites that you can join this summer) - that's exactly what we're looking forward to! None of them are addresses where you can go by public... Ho! Guard! Stop! We have lately the MyWheels app more than ever are under the thumb (in any case love for sharing concepts: that is both much cheaper and much more sustainable, but more about that in a moment) for renting MyWheels electric cars that you can pick up anywhere throughout the Netherlands (!) . No subscription required (nice): you don't have to sign a contract with MyWheels for a change. You pay for what you drive (it is possible, that contract, but it is also possible without it). Sander and Victor, the men behind The Camphans (top name by the way) are quite into camping themselves and therefore know exactly what is needed for a fun campsite for the whole family. Namely 25 unique vintage ready-made vehicles to sleep in. For example, a 6-seater DAF city bus (!) and a customized fire truck. Fun for kids and adults. But of course you can also make your own oldtimer camper, caravan or bring a tent. No problemo. The men actually just like it.

After a successful first summer, Fruits de Mer will be back in 2022 with a piece of France within cycling distance of Amsterdam: slurp oysters and spread a French baguette, while you sit among the vineyards and sip a good came. And the best part is that the wine is made from the bunches of grapes that you are among. The vineyard has fifteen tables for two to four people. After a tour of the vineyard (with a glass of bubbles), the tables are filled with all kinds of goodies. The tickets for 'Fruits de Mer in the vineyard' will be on sale again soon.

Perhaps even the nicest... After a few chats with the owners (and our own booking in the pocket) in any case completely reversed. If you need a holiday where nothing is necessary but everything is possible, then you have come to the right place Glamping De Parel in Zeewolde at the right place. In the heart of the beautiful Horsterwold forest, right on the water, you will find the glamping. How about waking up to the birdsong and the smell of freshly baked bread? Sounds like music to our ears. During the day you can laze on the beach, discover nature or... relax in the hot tub. Fancy a game? No problem. On the glamping you will find a wide range of games. Would you like to be among people for a while? Then you can enjoy a seat in the restaurant or one cocktail, ice-cold beer or get a tasty snack at the beach bar. Oh and you end the day around the campfire. Music on and vacation.
You will find this campsite among them West Friesland and North Holland, a little above Amsterdam. In Hoogwoud to be precise. You can walk through nature, stroll through picturesque villages and swim in the IJsselmeer or the North Sea. Sounds good, nun? A wonderful place to relax, enjoy the greenery and spend some well-deserved time with family/friends. The campsite has fifty camping pitches spread over five fields, if you have a tent to throw in the car. Would you like more to be taken care of for you? No problem. You can also stay at Camping Boven 't Maaiveld in a fully equipped Bell tent which is fully equipped. The only thing you need to bring is a sleeping bag. Super easy. And it is also nice to stay here for the luxury animals. You can also sleep in something a little more luxurious and yet small, cozy and cozy tiny house. This small wooden house is made of sustainable wood and can accommodate two adults and two children who can sleep on the loft.
Oh, you don't have a car, you say? Now – provided you do have a driver's license of course – that shouldn't be a problem at all. We explain: the MyWheels shared cars. That is indeed a very short explanation, but it is that simple. MyWheels is our latest addiction when it comes to summer holidays. You download the app, fill in your details and off you go, on the way to your own – previously almost inaccessible – spot in the middle of nature. No waiting times for public transport, no endless dragging of bags and tents and no sky-high costs. For a change, you don't have to take out a subscription with MyWheels (you can, but you don't have to), but you only pay for what you drive. The app pinpoints your location, finds the nearest car and even tells you how to walk to get there. Found? Nice. Then it remains simple: the app gives really simple instructions and by means of a swipe you open the car on your phone. The keys are in the glove compartment and you are straight away ready to go. Bonus points for the fact that the cars (almost all of them) are electric. That is certainly not exciting (we thought so too, but we now know better): here too, the app guides you flawlessly and idiot-proof.
If the car is charging at a pole, you can read in the app how and what to do. If your car is more than 80% full when you return it, simply park it somewhere in the zone where you picked it up and close the app again with a swipe on the app. Really that simple? Yes. Really that simple.
Secretly, it is mainly electric driving that makes us so happy: the cars go like crazy and they also have spirit. Although the enthusiasm competes with the ease and user-friendliness of the app: top organised. Panic? Don't: there is always someone available by phone (the number you need to call is, of course, also in the app).

At restaurant De Huiskamer you can get takeaway meals that you can enjoy at your leisure in your own tent. Also recommended if you don't stay overnight: a day of sailing in one of Zwier's whisper boats and you have a week's holiday in one (mid) day.

You get here RØSTIG enough space for peace and quiet (RØST, rest, you get it), literally and figuratively. Read a book (finally have time), participate in one of the workshops that are given daily (all flavors are available: meditation, self-development and yoga), relax in the floating wellness (yes, yes, yes!) and enjoy. As the people behind RØSTIG themselves say: they are the ambassadors of the low heart rate, the Zuidas of the Zen feeling and the Harvard of hammock lazing. We couldn't have said it better. All workshops are included in the price, so no unexpected expenses or small print. On the water, in the green and plenty of fun things to do at the camp itself, but also in the surrounding area.
oh Camping Heavenly in the small town of Volkel. Where? Volkel. North Brabant, next to Uden, which is not far from Den Bosch and Eindhoven. The smart guys at BillyBird Park Hemelrijk (which is a really nice playground plus, all year round) came up with the plan to turn their playground with enormous water pond (with play paradise in the water) into a temporary campsite - certainly now that we are quickly looking for a place in our own country for this summer. So that became pop-up camping Hemels. And pop-up camping Hemels in Volkel gets ten points, just so you know. The campsite is open from July 8, 2022 to September 2, 2022. You can swim there - ergo that pond. There is more (MORE) than enough entertainment for the kids - ergo the playground-plus called BillyBird Park Hemelrijk. There are sticks with white lanterns and streamers and decorated glamping bell tents and we think it's a fairy tale as soon as dusk falls and everything is softly illuminated. The whole place was decorated by a few young guests who also like a beer (hello: Brabant nights are and will remain long, you know) and that ensures that it is also great fun for everyone over the age of twelve! *And we breathe*.
Okay, definitely not a campsite (anything but), but the paint is still wet, so new Boutique Hotel Benedict in Noordwijk, which is 'difficult to reach by public transport'. So well, we didn't want to deny it to you here. It is, long story short, beautiful. Serene, luxurious, within walking distance of the beach and 'just' a place for ultimate tranquility.

We readily admit it: the Dutch Weerribben in the municipality of Overijssel are a somewhat neglected child on this site. Shame on us. This is probably because you can only get there by car. Well, We fixed that problem of course. So if we find a nice spot there, then you also have something. Of which: let's meet the don't tell anyone else campsite of the week: Mini Camping de Houtwal in Paasloo. An undiscovered pearl where you will definitely score a spot this summer. This cute mini camping is brand new and therefore still nice and undiscovered (which means that you can definitely still go there!). Owners Justin and Yvonne 'opened' their mini campsite De Houtwal in April 2021 and it became a small picture located between the wooded banks. Conviviality versus tranquility, such a campsite. There is no need to be bored: you can go paddle boarding, walking, cycling or on the water. O! And there are alpacas! Who needs more… Yeah, okay, something to eat and drink maybe? Also completely arranged, because there are barbecues ready or you can have something delivered by restaurant 't Binnenhof and that's great!

Anyone who knows us a little now knows that here at Bart we like to immerse ourselves in nature. That we like to escape the chaos of the city. Hoppa, the nature in is our credo. We often do a happy dance behind the scenes when we have discovered another magical place. How about a unique one off the grid experience in the middle of nowhere? In a fantastic spot in the forest you will find a forest garden where you can eat, sleep and of course rest. Pop-up Terra Wolde is the name.
You will find the pop-up deep in the forest near the water, giving you a real... off the grid gains experience. We cook on an open fire with home-grown ingredients from the vegetable garden and forest. Do not worry, because you definitely don't sleep on the floor. On the contrary even. You actually sleep here bell tents on comfortable double beds. Outside the tent you will find an indoor bathroom with shower and toilet.
This Dutch food (okay-and-also-sleep) concept opened its doors in the Veluwe forests. Eating out is of course a party, and how wonderful that you can relax afterwards in one of the tepees? The team prepares delicious dishes on an open fire, vegetables are cooked in the ground and are sometimes also pickled (marinating in salt water). The menu is determined by the range of wild ingredients in the area and is sometimes even taken directly from the forest. The evening ends around the campfire with a homemade digestif of pine needles and s'mores. A total experience that you will be proud of.

Good to know: the restaurant of pop-up Terra Wolde consists of a kitchen in a cozy greenhouse and you also dine in the forest garden. A big bonus that you can also dine in the restaurant here without staying. A nice mnemonic, because such an electric car is of course also perfect for 'just' an afternoon or evening in the green at one of the many outdoor restaurants and pop-ups in the Netherlands.
On the estate Hoorneboeg near Hilversum is, for example, a restaurant At the Gardener's. As early as 1881, a beautiful vegetable garden was created at the gardener's house on the estate and Bij de Tuinman serves vegetable dishes with goodies from their own land. Vegetarian or vegan. And all fresh from the land, naturally grown and with plenty of peace and quiet. This is how food should always be.
