Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cream and 1cc CollaShot Plump Serum: the beauty duo for your autumn skin
Whereas not so long ago we were preoccupied with which SPF on earth to use, we have suddenly found ourselves wondering how to protect our skin from the heating. Because it’s great to have it on, but our skin thinks otherwise. It quickly feels tight after showering and dull by four o'clock. And just because it’s autumn doesn't mean we don't want to hold onto that holiday feeling, where your skin glows just a little more and you feel a bit more relaxed yourself. So it is time to update the bathroom shelf with a classic and a newcomer from Kiehl's: the Ultra Facial Cream and the pink 1cc CollaShot Plump Serum.
There are a number no brainers when we fill our beauty stash. The Ultra Facial Cream from Kiehl's has been around since the seventies (mind you: at Kiehl's) and even climbed Mount Everest in 1988 with an expedition team seeking a cream that could withstand harsh cold. We owe this to the ingredients: glacial glycoprotein, derived from microorganisms that survive in icy glacial seas, and squalane from olives. The former retains moisture, the latter replenishes your skin's natural lipid barrier. The texture is lighter than you would expect from 'ultra': the cream absorbs quickly and leaves no greasy film behind. Kiehl's promises 24-hour hydration and calls the Ultra Facial Cream suitable for every skin type, including sensitive. Tried & tested For dry skin, the cream provides long-lasting care. One caveat: for oily skin, it can quickly feel too rich on a warm day. For that, there is the Ultra Facial Oil-Free Gel Cream. Great for those who have been buying the jar for years: there is a refill bag with 61 percent less plastic than the 50 ml jar.
The program 1cc CollaShot Plump Serum It stands out due to its soft pink color. Not a strange coloring agent, but vitamin B12. The name is a dosage recommendation. 1cc stands for one cubic centimeter, and that is what you use per day: two pumps in the morning, two in the evening. What really relies on are the recombinant collagen polypeptides, protein fragments recreated in the lab that resemble the collagen in your own skin. So, it contains no animal collagen and the serum is vegan. Kiehl's packages these fragments in so-called supra-liposomes, a type of transport capsule designed to deliver the substance deeper into the upper layers of the skin. Additionally, it contains rhamnose, a sugar that focuses on firmness. The texture is remarkable: a firm gel that transforms into a serum between your fingers and then absorbs rapidly.
Kiehl's calls it the serum procedure inspired and boasts about percentages: 93 percent of the testers felt that their skin looked fuller. For skin that looks smoother and plumper, especially because it is better hydrated.
The logic of this duo is simple: the serum delivers the active ingredients, the cream locks in moisture. After cleansing, apply two pumps of CollaShot to your face and neck. Let it absorb for a moment; this happens quickly. Then apply a dime-sized amount of Ultra Facial Cream. In the morning, apply your sunscreen, but only after the cream has absorbed for a minute or two. In the evening, repeat the first two steps. Do you already use a retinol? According to Kiehl's, the serum works perfectly with it.
