Best coffee spots in the Jordaan and Amsterdam center

A list of coffee places in Amsterdam center and Jordaan for your cup of black gold, some new, some old. You get off the train at Amsterdam Central Station and the (catering) world is at your feet. It's a shame to just end up at the first coffee chain (we won't mention any names)... Here are the real local toppers.

Wouldn't we have some more coffee tips throughout the city? Methinks! THESE ARE THE TASTIEST TAKE OUT COFFEE SPACES (WITH SOME DELICACIES) IN AMSTERDAM

Around the Noordermarkt 1: Saint-Jean

Around the Noordermarkt 1: Saint-Jean

Who doesn't know them; the delicious Selfie mirror photos in front of the door at Saint-Jean and the now famous cruffin. Years of preparation went into the opening of Saint-Jean and you can see and notice that. The beans are optimally roasted and have a strong (!) flavour, the tastiest vegan snacks to go with them. So I leave the house as a happy person. Read more about Saint Jean

The coffee shop

The coffee shop

The coffee shop is a mix of an Italian coffee shop with Dutch products (think apple pie and other pastries, but also delicious whipped cream truffles). Really guaranteed good products, most of which are made in their own bakery at their location on the Spui. From here, all these goodies are cycled to the other locations. And ten points for the vegan options and plant-based milk at no extra cost. One hundred points for the sustainable concept anyway.
And oh, then the coffee... Really good Italian coffee and ready quickly. Add a newspaper or a good conversation and what more could someone want?

Around Noordermarkt 2: Luuks Coffee

Around Noordermarkt 2: Luuks Coffee

Newest member of the bunch. Luuks Coffee is a striking appearance that you can quickly spot from the Noordermarkt. The dark blue painted building with striking white letters suggests where you should go; with Luuk.

The tent has nice to-go coffee if you want to cross the market, but also a few seats inside where you can enjoy people watching from the window. In the summer you can sit outside on the bench. Luuk also has a blend for home use, if you like the coffee.

Coffee to go with Birò

Coffee to go with Birò

Coffee on the go sounds wonderful, but if you want to visit so many nice locations then you need one speedy need a companion to take you everywhere. And that's where our friends come from Biro look around the corner. They bring comfort, speed and it is also a sustainable means of transport. That's all? No, of course not! It's nice that you can park almost anywhere. Do it neatly, as it should be (in the compartments and preferably with your nose towards the wall or waterfront) and not on the sidewalk! Coffee in hand and go!

Around the Noordermarkt 3: Libertine

Around the Noordermarkt 3: Libertine

Lovely spot (and especially terrace) on the Noordermarkt. People watching every day, busy every day! You can sit down for coffee from 9 am, and coffee can continue throughout the day in other activities, from coffee to lunch, from coffee to drinks. It's all possible at Libertine. Except on Tuesdays, when Steven is closed.

Just opened in the fall of 2023 is Nous. A coffee shop where you would like to return. On the edge of the Jordaan - just out of the hustle and bustle - Nous sits on a corner of the Haarlemmerplein. This light business focuses on good things quali and customer friendliness. Just as you would expect from any coffee shop. Not in the mood for coffee? Then try the delicious matcha or the homemade lemonade that changes color in a very casual way. Nous coffee store is new but already full of regular customers. And that is not without reason.

Around the Haarlemmerstraat: Toki

Around the Haarlemmerstraat: Toki

Toki is certainly applying for the nicest catering corner building in Amsterdam. Hidden behind the busy Haarlemmerstraat you will find Toki. Always busy, always fun, always on taste, inside & out, literally & figuratively. The checkered terrazzo bench will be recognized by many Amsterdammers – toki times. Toki has a real living room vibe that attracts a very diverse (and therefore fun) audience. In addition to really good coffee, they also have delicious cakes. So go!

Around the Haarlemmerstraat: Gebroeders Niemeijer

Around the Haarlemmerstraat: Gebroeders Niemeijer

A delicious artisanal pearl close to central station. So perfect for a nice cup of coffee before you start or end the day. It is hidden between the touristy shops, so look carefully. At Gebroeders Niemeijer, in addition to a delicious cup of coffee, you can also get an above-average croissant. Doing!

Dam neighborhood: The Lobby

Dam neighborhood: The Lobby

A wonderful place to relax. If there is still a spot by the fireplace; claim this – you won't be able to sit more comfortably. If you are successful, you will receive a delicious butter cookie (jam) with your coffee and if you order a latte macchiato, it will come in a festive wine glass kind of thing. Instantly makes your day a lot more fun, right?

9 streets: Screaming beans

9 streets: Screaming beans

So much (too much?) choice in the Nine Streets and that is precisely why we are highlighting just one: Screaming beans. Always a good spot while strolling through the 9 streets. Once again with our own coffee blend. At Screaming beans you can sit comfortably in the somewhat dark, narrow building. The coffee is full of flavor and the espresso is nice and spicy, so you can enjoy it all day long.
