The best beach holiday of this summer is simply the Netherlands, specifically on the beach of North Holland.

Do you know that one run In those unique beach houses ON the beach? Probably. We are always too late, too... But the chance that you won't miss out becomes considerably greater when we are talking about brand-new houses! Because not very many people know about those yet. Ha! The beach houses (understatement) on the beach at Petten, Landal Zeezigt, fall into that category and they are – again, an understatement – ​​amazing! Honestly, the best beach holiday of this summer is simply in the Netherlands, specifically on the beach of North Holland.

They are quite substantial houses on the beach, the collection that Landal Zeezigt in Petten Hot. On the beach of the North Holland coast stand them: fifty beach huts and houses with the North Sea as their front garden. Waking up to the sound of the waves, watching the sun set into the sea in the evening – just what the doctor ordered.

The cottages exude Scandinavia: large windows, light tones, natural materials. Just right. They are also nicely positioned diagonally so that you never really look into the neighbors' (or they into yours) – very clever and beautifully done. There are cozy 2-person cottages *with* outdoor space. kitchen and an outdoor shower and more spacious variants for 2 to 4 people. You can even book the latter including a Big Green Egg on your terrace.

Bringing your dog? That's a great idea too, as there are special dog-friendly cottages. The neighborhood is lovely as well: walk along the beach to the Palendorp of Petten (photogenic and with a great story); active types can go kitesurfing, horseback riding on the beach, or paddleboarding at the Camperduin Lagoon. Schoorl (that climbing dune!), Bergen, Callantsoog, and Alkmaar are within cycling distance and are all equally fun. If you prefer not to roll more than three times: we spent the entire weekend wonderfully at beach pavilion Zee en Zo and in our own cottage, and that was perfect. Strandpaviljoen Hargen, a little further away, is also a great tip.
