Le Bain, New York

Bart's Booklet - Le Bain New YorkHard to beat Le Bain on a beautiful day in New York. The roof terrace of The Standard Meatpacking is really, really nice, even when it's only a little warm (hello Indian Summer!). You sit behind a half-high glass partition (goodbye cold wind and potential jumpers) on mattresses and low seats, nicely messy between tourists and plenty of locals (as said: it IS just a great place, the locals can't ignore that either). The drinks are expensive and you have to queue for a while, but hey, don't let that spoil the fun. Tip: go early, around five o'clock, then you're sure to get a great spot for the last rays of sunshine (against the wall around the corner from the bar, that's where it shines the longest). Tip 2: don't forget your ID, otherwise you can just turn around again. Tip 3: stay as long as possible on weekends, there's a good chance you'll end up at an unforgettable NYC party. Le bain
