Sigh for the South of France. And sleep at Les Maisons De L'heure Vide
A pearl in the middle of the nature of the Cevennes in the South of France: welcome to The Houses Of L'heure Vide (yes, we also pronounce it out loud every time, that oh so beautiful name). Les Maisons De L'heure Vide (out loud one more time, it costs nothing) is a project by a Dutch couple, Sofie and Michel... Does that ring a bell? Could be right! The two stood at the foot of of an animal, the island, still one of our favorite places in all of France (that's saying something). D'une ile was a success (understatement) and Sofie and Michel thought they had done a great job. They sold the place, went into conclave, traveled through their favorite country and found this place. Lis Maisons De L'heure Vide. Or did the place find them? Because if we are to believe the couple, it was love at first sight.
'This is it'. That, in a nutshell, is the story of this collection of houses. Collection? Yes! Plural. 'A collection of unusual places where a passage to the natural universe can be found', according to Sofie and Michel. The first house in this series is Mas Les Vignes and there's more to come. And we are wagging our tails with impatience.

Situated in a valley of the Cevennes National Park at the foot of Mont Lozère lies the first house: Mas Les Vignes. Mas Les Vignes is an authentic Cevenol (that's what they call it when you live in the Cevennes) farm from 1757. The farm consists of 2 houses, connected by a courtyard overlooking the garden with landscaped terraces on one side and on the other side overlooking the stone walled terraces leading to the built source with a natural swimming pool. There is no neighbor, no vis-à-vis. Absolute peace. Surrounded by valleys with beautiful streams and waterfalls, a walk into the forest is definitely recommended.
Sofie and Michel's goal: to create a 'bridge' between two ways of life that can be rediscovered time and again. Close to tourist attractions and at the same time isolated enough to imagine yourself alone in nature. The houses are therefore intended to be a good place to rest, work, meet friends and family and be inspired by the countryside during long walks.
