The Mandela House, Amsterdam

Where to start… It Mandela house in Amsterdam (more about that in a moment) there is an inn, glass overnight suite, tree house (where you can stay in), coaching place for world-improving ideas, request room for conflicts, discussion place for social problems and summer terrace. You can't explain all that in one post, can you? So we will focus on explaining the suite, the terrace and the tree house. Because that one? They are - not only in terms of looks - to die for...

The terrace is open when the weather is nice, here they find nice weather from 17 degrees and dry. And sometimes an occasional splash of rain isn't a problem, there are cozy parasols to take shelter under, because there is no indoor location, but there is room outside for everyone. Lots of nice seating areas, picnic tables and hammocks all overlooking the IJ, picture-perfect† At the Mandela house daily specials are served for €13,50. You've also come to the right place for drinks (with snacks) and the cake for coffee is also a winner. They use organic and local products as much as possible. The kitchen team consists of three chefs and each cooks from the love of their own roots. How nice! Surinamese, African and Syrian influences. Top.

And now that we're here, with our heads in Amsterdam North. We have more top tips from beyond the IJ. Just take a look here.

Mandela's Tree House

Mandela's Tree House

You can now find it above and next to the bar Mandela's Tree House, romance at its finest, if we may name two words. We think you sleep on it, in and next to an old oak tree pretty cool. And at the top - because you already see it coming - you will of course get that beautiful view again (but even more beautiful), from your own private terrace, hanging in a tree. In the tree house a nice bed and a gin bottle Under the Trees, You don't need much more during your stay!

Glass conservatory

Glass conservatory

There is a beautiful large glass conservatory on the waterfront of the Mandela House. Sessions are held in this conservatory during the day, but in the evening this beautiful place can be transformed into a romantic hotel room. With a view of the IJ and the stars. Romantic much! You sleep enveloped in organic down Yumeko and in the morning a delicious breakfast is ready for you. And then your day can start in the characteristic oasis of peace of the Mandela House, but with the charm (and all the additional benefits, the website is full of) of the city.
