Okay, the best terrace in Amsterdam,that’s a tough one to name. but we got your attention rightBecause what really makes a terrace “the best” depends entirely on your preferences: your company, the time of day, whether it’s a bit too windy and you’re looking for shelter, or whether you want to soak up the sun.
Sure, you can find beer and bitterballen just about everywhere. But if we had to choose, these are the places we keep coming back to, in no particular order. that isThe best terrace in Amsterdam? Okay fine, let’s say: some of the best terraces in the city.

Hannekes Boom calls itself “the most colorful spot in the heart of Amsterdam,” and that is no exaggeration. You do have to know exactly where to find this super cozy restaurant – both in terms of atmosphere and appearance: it is a bit hidden away to the east of Central Station. Overlooking the IJ from a fantastic terrace, you can order beer, wine, juice, soft drinks, coffee, a summery spritz, or one of the other tasty beverages on the extensive menu. And there are more tasty things on the menu. For lunch, for example, you can order a familiar croquette sandwich or sourdough bread with poached eggs and avocado. For dinner, eat steak & frites or fish & chips, and don't forget to order dessert. Just looking for a snack? No stress. Finger food, nachos, or a slice of cake; at Hannekes Boom, you're all set.
From spring onwards, the garden of De Vergulden Eenhoorn transforms every year into a lively, green oasis in the heart of Amsterdam. Once an old city farm, it now houses a restaurant with a spacious and cozy picnic garden. As soon as the sun comes out, it is one of the best spots in East Amsterdam to sit down for lunch or dinner. And for those who really want to relax, the beach chairs are highly recommended. With a little rearranging, you can easily create the perfect spot for drinks. You order easily (and at your own pace, which is nice!) via a QR code. This spacious garden is also a top spot for (large) groups. It is best to make a reservation, but that is easily done via the website. In the mood for a bit more action? Then reserve one of the pétanque courts.
Tucked away in a cozy side street off the Overtoom, around the corner from Vondelpark, you will find Café Conrad. A lovely neighborhood café in a beautiful corner building. During the sunny months, cheerfully colored retro chairs adorn the terrace. Inside, that pleasant atmosphere is continued with Dutch white tiles, vintage wooden bar stools, cast-iron lamps, and, of course, the games cabinet.
But back to that terrace for a moment, because it makes us happy. A nice mix of locals and Vondelpark passers-by. One is reading a book, the other is drinking a cup of coffee with a homemade pie on the side, and everyone is enjoying the sun there.
The menu offers a taste of local dedication during coffee, breakfast, drinks, or dinner. The menu isn't overly elaborate, but it's good and full of character. Various homemade dishes are available. pies, fresh sourdough bread with jam from the neighbor or soup of the day? You can get the daily special for just €16,50 (Wed/Thu: €13,50), seems like a good deal to us. And us? We’re going to start by raising a glass with a fresh, fruity passionfruit Spritz. Cheers!
To be honest, lately we ourselves prefer hanging out in the traditional pub around the corner. A bit tired sometimes of all the new hype. We are only human, after all. So it is all the more pleasing that one of those golden old Amsterdam pubs was given a fresh makeover a few years ago. The Green Elephant is a warm and cozy neighborhood café in the Plantagebuurt, a trusted one for many years go-toThe terrace is bathed in sun all day and is a peaceful oasis in the city. And the menu? They work with local and sustainable products as much as possible. While having drinks, you can order everything from oysters to 'plain' (vegan) bitterballen – good for any occasion and also nice if you don't feel like too much fuss. And you can not only enjoy the terrace, but also have a good lunch and dinner there. Absolutely must try due.

Bar Restaurant LELY It is the coziest living room in Nieuw-West, right next to Lelylaan station. You can drop by at any time of day for delicious food, a snack, or simply to enjoy the terrace with your face in the sun and a cold drink in your hand (and yes, Monday through Sunday!). The terrace with its relaxed beach vibes is definitely highly recommended!
You order fish, meat, or something vegetarian, you simply bring the kids along – there is a huge selection for them too – and a bowl of water is ready for the four-legged friend(s). By the way, the Turkish eggs and steak tartare are mouth-watering if you go for lunch. Oh, and don't forget to play a game of petanque (or boules); you can do that right there too. And while you're out and about, you might as well take a nice stroll through Nieuw-West. Along the Sloterplas, for example. A lovely spot to spend time on a warm summer day. You can also come here for a business appointment or meeting – LELY is great. allround.
If you want to score a nice and especially trendy spot somewhere, you can almost always do so in De Pijp – as far as we are concerned, this neighborhood is one of the all-time favoritesAt Barça, absolute classics have been served for 20 years: tapas, paella, and sangria – and you can order them all day long. You will find this Spanish restaurant right in the middle of the always lively Marie Heinekenplein. resort of choice., where it seems as if you have briefly landed in Barcelona. You only miss the Mediterranean Sea. What really completes Barça is the big and all day sunny terrace, where you can sit endlessly on both sunny afternoons and balmy evenings with sangria in hand and a table full of small dishes (to share). Inside, it is cozy and stylishly decorated, and the extensive menu of Spanish wines and cava completes the experience. Oh, and are you coming for lunch? Then there are extra (good) lunch dishes waiting for you as well.
You'll find De Kleine Bes in an awesome corner building in the Dapperbuurt. And it is, yes indeed, our favorite newcomer. The terrace, enclosed by greenery, is sunny (yes, really, all day long) and cozy with cheerful, colorful tables. You are welcome here for breakfast, lunch, drinks, and a few hot dishes. The menu is small, but very nice. Inside, it's cozy too, by the way: a warm, living-room-like farmhouse atmosphere (because, yes, lots of nice vintage stuff from France) with blue paneling, a cozy bar, and seating of all shapes and sizes. Exactly the kind of neighborhood spot where you spontaneously linger. Orange wine on tap and, for those who wish, a delicious daily special in the evening. And yes, that rhymes.
Relaxing on a terrace with kids is fun, but sometimes there is more logistics involved. The menu needs to be child-friendly (but not *too* childish), there needs to be some room to move around (three overturned tables isn't exactly ideal), there needs to be shade in warm weather, and ideally, there should be some extra entertainment for the kids so you aren't stuck keeping them occupied the whole time. Well, WOPL! have it allWOPL! stands for World of Play & Learning and is a creative and interactive play world with various themed zones specially designed for children up to 8 years old. Add to that the sunny and spacious terrace with parasols and a fine menu, and you're all set. Best of both worlds, for kids and parents.
You can really tune in at Loop51, on the sunny corner of Dusartstraat in Amsterdam. This brunch bar is a huge success, and that is hardly surprising, because the interior, the records on offer, and the all-day brunch are top-notch. The line-up of vinyl DJs changes weekly – and records from various genres are played. Dub, hip-hop, house, and everything in between – and those records go surprisingly well with the fresh salads, buttermilk chicken en egg dishesOh, and they have a lovely sunny terrace.
Bartje heart the Caron Family, not least because virtually all Caron establishments have a superb terrace. That starts at Caron in De Pijp (photo), continues via Tannay (hidden away on the Zandhoek – perfect date night terrace) and goes wild in the Westerpark at Cantine de Caron.
As long as you’re by the water, you’re probably in the right place, because there's usually plenty of sunshine, with fewer buildings around to block out that yellow friend of ours. These spots truly deserve the spotlight, whether it’s because of their effortless charm, or simply because you can dip your toes in the water to cool off (ha!).

Amsterdam-Noord is at terrace level anyway tha bomb. We will repeat ourselves a few more times in that area, but here are a few no brainers in Noord (click on the link to read more):
- Pizzeria Poppy We already knew it for dancing and delicious pizza, but it is actually a top-notch terrace too. In any case, around the corner you will find a very nice string of terraces of which Cafe Soleil is the highlight
- Skate cafe en Taqueria Coba Amsterdam, both always a good idea, just like Slope 7

EuroPizza & restaurant Europe are a favorite anyway, rain or shine, but when it shines, our golden friend, then you're in the right place!
- At Bunk en Deck you sit on the terrace of Hotel Bunk and Yotel. Neither are our sexiest choice BUT the terraces are both great!
- The former Stork in Noord (which we already loved, especially because of the great terrace) has made way for Lowlander Botanical Bar.

- Café 't Sluisje Amsterdam-North. The lock and just the bike ride there is fun. The service is slow but sweet, and the mix of guests is nice. In short: a very nice place.

- Love for V12 and the small, rustic terrace in front, overlooking the water (okay, you look out over a street at first, but let's forget about that for a moment).
- The Aambeeldstraat with, among others FC Hyena, Hangar en The Golden Pheasant is a very good idea when the sun is shining, though Bar Barracuda (with beach beds on the quay!), and Barracuda restaurant definitely a favorite in this corner.
- The Ponthuis has made way for Polly Goudvisch. Part of favorites Bonnie, Arie, De Neef Van Fred and Moos. You can get there in no time with the ferry, you get out and before you know it you are already on the lovely terrace. Polly Goudvisch
Located at the NDSM Wharf, you will find this spacious, industrial café-restaurant with a large terrace right on the IJ. You are welcome here all day long for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or drinks. The French-Mediterranean inspired menu features accessible classics such as ribeye, fresh fish, vegetarian dishes, and typical Amsterdam lunch favorites like a meatball sandwich or a half-and-half. On weekends, live music and DJs create an extra lively atmosphere, while families also have a great time here.
One of our favorite terraces in North is ZealLocated right in the middle of the iconic NDSM shipyard, where you can choose from as many as 80 different beers, 19 of which are on tap. Not a beer fan? The wine list is excellent too (and there is plenty of soft drinks). Too much choice? The staff are happy to help! But you can come here for everything (yes, really, everything!). On the sunny 400m² terrace, you can sit down for breakfast, dinner, and everything in between. IJver has a distinct cuisine where the charcoal BBQ and Hibachi BBQ (a Japanese grilling method) play a key role. Not directly on the water, but on the terrace you can still catch a lovely breeze from the IJ. Bad weather? Then you can head inside all year round to the industrial and unique building or to the covered and heated indoor-outdoor terrace.
Aaaah, the TolhuistuinSummer love. Oh so hidden and oh so delightful there is every summer. Especially at the moments when you catch a charming mini-festival there—preferably by chance—because nowhere are they as fun, cozy, and intimate as in the Tolhuistuin. aka Hidden Oasis right behind Central Station in Noord. Make sure they are open before you go, otherwise you could end up standing in front of a closed gate. It doesn't matter, by the way; if that is the case, then you simply sit down on the terrace THT, because it is open at regular times. As far as we are concerned, it is still a standard for comfortable, uncomplicated sitting and (almost) always room. By the way, we have never received unfriendly service here, not even somewhat disinterested, which is quite unique in Amsterdam. Would you like something more? upgrade coffee, tea and/or cake? Then walk along the boardwalk to it Eye Museum, a must for every Amsterdammer. You are welcome on the terrace even without a museum ticket. And, also go looking for it the Mandela House, a colorful, silent surprise with a view of Amsterdam CS.
Just a quick sidestep to Amsterdam East, because we don't want you to have to scroll through this entire article before you get to Tasting room 't Nieuwe Diep ends up in the Flevopark. Definitely the one hidden gems of Amsterdam if you ask us, especially in good weather (so don't tell anyone). Unfortunately, you can't make reservations there.
And — also in East — mentioned again below, but worth highlighting here too, because it’s too often overlooked (and that’s a real shame): Merkelbach. merkelbachIt feels like you are miles away from the city and the food is top-notch. More on this later!
Okay, okay, it's really not Amsterdam, but we think renting a boat in Amsterdam and then sailing on the Amstel to the beautiful Ouderkerk aan de Amstel (and possibly taking a dip every now and then - is possible) is really one of the nicest things to do on a hot day in the city. And especially when SAAM restaurant is the final destination. Make sure you cheer yourself up, because SAAM deserves it. Read more about SAAM restaurant.
Close to Central Café Fonteyn. At least here the staff knows what it means to carry trays and always keep smiling. We like.
A secret favorite Captain & Co, in the shade. There is almost always a spot (especially if you come early), and then you look out over the bridge canal and the stately Amrath Hotel.
A lot less secretive, but also a lot of love for it for years Sluyswacht. Especially the back terrace. Here you look across the canal towards Nemo, and at the Sluyswacht itself you will find an interesting mix of things locals, tourists and creative students.
At Café Papeneiland it is almost impossible to get a table on a nice day, but if you do get one, you can enjoy people watching there. One of those hectic bridge intersections where someone is always hit or run over. Then the terrace of Papeneiland is also on different 'layers' and it looks so cozy. It's also cozy, you really don't have much space, but it's still a very nice place to sit.
At The grape (Rapenburgerplein) it used to be German beer and its own jenever, but now it is natural wine. We think it's a shame, but they are a lot busier now. When the weather is nice, they expand the terrace to the other side of the street (folding wobbly chairs that won't fit your buttocks, but you can still sit comfortably there. Long story short: De Druif = holiday feeling.
Bambino made way for Bambino on the Vijzelgracht Cenc, from the same owners as Balthazars Keuken and Bar Parry. A huge hit; a small group gathers outside when the weather is nice. If you are among them or have managed to snag a table, definitely do not forget to order the shrimp heads!
Whether we like it or not, people are creatures of habit. Trying out new places is fun, but if something is good, we are also happy to come back 100 times. Café Restaurant Meyer on the Amstelveld is exactly such a place. Open seven days a week, from nine in the morning until late at night: breakfast, lunch, dinner, drinks, and then again. Oh yes, the best part is: they have a large and sunny terrace right in the city center – lovely now that spring is heading into it. And finally: a big thumbs up to the staff. Very friendly, very attentive. Exclamation mark. Conclusion? We are very happy with this new addition to the Amstelveld.
Water edge cannot and must not be missing from this list – otherwise we would be doing you a disservice. Because the waterfront at Waterkant is and remains a cozy (originally Surinamese, saotosoep, yes please) party, although it is often too busy on a nice day. You have been warned. It's fun, by the way.
Cocktail bar Super Lyan in Amsterdam is a really great spot in the center of Amsterdam if you're looking for expertly shaken cocktails, and we can certainly call them unique. And Super Lyan goes al frescoOh yes, cocktails in the sun! At Super Lyan, you can pull up a chair right away on the sunny terrace this summer. As soon as the sun comes out, the bar moves outside. Because with (Spritz) cocktails and funky bites, this is the place for long, lazy afternoons that turn into spontaneous evening plans. Good to know: expect the familiar Super Lyan standard outdoors as well: creative, surprising, and always good.
If you prefer some peace and quiet, cycle to the courtyard The Pulitzer.Because this summer, we can't help but shine a little extra light on our hidden Amsterdam favorite: the Pulitzer Garden. The (enormous, beautiful!) courtyard of the equally stunning Pulitzer Hotel on Amsterdam's canals is both picturesque and serene. An idyllic hideaway with a quintessential Amsterdam character and matching decor. Sunny, with exceptional food and drinks, and—literally—exactly the urban escape you've been looking for. Plop down here (which you'll definitely do as soon as possible), you'll find yourself nestled among the beautiful, centuries-old canal houses and toasting with a view of the Westertoren (Wester Tower).
And Pulitzer Amsterdam has even more terracesFact: Pulitzer Amsterdam may well have the finest terraces in the city.
It's almost unbelievable but right in the middle of the red light district the Red Light District, stands a very cute little church with a very cute terrace next to it, right there, right in front of the door, as if it were nothing. Actually, it isn't even a terrace; 'terrace' pales in comparison to the terrace of the Koffieschenkerij. Call it a lovely garden instead. A garden where you can perfectly well spend an afternoon with a good book. Surrounded by a few flowerbeds, beautiful roses, and framed by a (semi) white picket fence you really sit there like a king. And that romance just like that in the Red Light District. We call that a little money for a little love. Delicious coffee, good sandwiches and hearty pieces of cake. And yes, okay, inside at the Coffee Shop it is also very cozy, but outside it is just that little bit better.
Even more French antics in the capital: Café Parlotte. Which in more romantic languages means chatting/clapping/talking. And if it were up to us, terraces go hand in hand with chatting. We like a concept that stimulates exactly that. That is why there is a lot of bickering, gossiping and whispering on the terrace on the Westerstraat. Oh well, buzz in the airAfter all, it is always pleasant there. Especially with (a little too much) wine, because they also stayed the course at Café Parlotte. They understand it and know what they are giving. But luckily the champagne is also popped there and the beers are cold tapped.
You will also find it on the right side of central station, past Hannekes Boom Hotel Jakarta on Java Island. About a 20-minute walk from the station, past the Muziekgebouw, turn left over the bridge, and suddenly you find yourself in a quiet part of Amsterdam, in the city center, and right by the water to boot. Ships used to depart from here for Indonesia, and now you can enjoy sitting on the terrace with a view over the IJ. Doesn't sound bad, does it?
Hotel Jakarta is a sustainable hotel in the special category. They have a botanical courtyard with palm trees that are four stories high. Is it getting a bit chilly? Then move upstairs to the sky bar. Hotel Jakarta
The idea of one hidden gems but right in the center: Dignita Hoftuin. A place for breakfast, lunch or tea. Although the most special thing is the location itself: in a courtyard hidden between the Nieuwe Herengracht and the Nieuwe Keizersgracht, next to the Hermitage. Picture.
If you are looking for us, we are on the Lindengracht, at Café Thijssen to be precise. Since we've been hopping around here in Amsterdam, it's been an incredible favorite because it's just right without having to put any effort into it. Simply: a pub as a pub should be. Inside it smells a bit like old, stale beer, but that doesn't matter because there is always someone smiling at you, both the staff and another random bar companion. And also because the pub quiz is such a hit. And because surprisingly enough there is always a spot, except on Saturdays when there is a market. But even then you can go there (lounge at the bar for example, also party). If you really want to look further, walk to the Noordermarkt. It's around the corner. It's even busier there on Saturdays... Bij Shop 43 there is usually even a row and also at Libertine Petit Café it's urgent. Oh yes, and then sitting Luuk's Coffee also there on the corner. It's nice. With all of them. Moreover, forewarned counts for two.
A hidden (nicely anonymous) courtyard with large tables where you can relax in the summer, Brasserie Occo is exactly that, yes please. A menu with good classics such as a steak tatare (with fries), scallops and more of that sort. Tasty bar bites, extensive wine list and five-star service. Brasserie Occo
The same applies to the courtyard Oriole inside Hotel Sofitel Legend The Grand: you won't see it coming, but you will have a perfect lunch there on a summer day. Oriole Bistro
Surprise: the most beautiful canal in Amsterdam is the Brouwersgracht. That's what we think. And probably the folks at Lonely Planet too. That's why it gets a bit busy on weekends. It doesn't matter, because we always have time during the week. And during the week we are happy to settle down on the chairs on the waterfront Restaurant Belhamel. Chic and cozy at the same time. Classic and wonderfully correct. And a view that you will admire, of the most beautiful canal in Amsterdam.
Do you prefer beer and bitterballen in the sun to the refinement of the Belhamel? Then it is Van Zuylen your husband. Student café style with nothing wrong with it at all. The jealous-looking cyclists who constantly zoom past and who you see thinking: 'oh, yes, I shouldn't forget that for next time', are an extra.
Also in Amsterdam East (and especially DIEP in East) there are a few cheerful catering friends that you should not miss on a beautiful day in and around Amsterdam:
- Café de Tros en Turbo (Hahaha)
- The Japanese on Strandeiland
- Het IJ Brewery: (you know, beer drinks under the mill) – many of the nicest Amsterdam catering establishments serve it, but little beats it the real deal, and now the tent also has a great terrace.
- Hotel Arena It also has a fantastic terrace.
- Drovers Dog: There are now several branches (also one in East, which is by far the nicest and also nice and hidden, on Atjehstraat)
Deep in Amsterdam East, in the fantastic coach house of Huize Frankendeal - probably one of the most beautiful in the city, we would like to knock on your door merkelbachYou have a wonderful time in the cozy restaurant, and as soon as the sun shines, it is even more fantastic in the enormous garden. Oh, and we hadn't mentioned the food yet, had we? Well, here it is: you are guaranteed to have a great time.
After a long wait, perhaps it is on the most dynamic, coolest square in Amsterdam Bathhouse reopened. Where Badhuis used to serve as a washing and showering place for the neighborhood, you can now expect food, dancing, drinks and more. The most beautiful neighborhood in Amsterdam, especially in spring and autumn, must be the Plantagebuurt in East, with Artis as the most beautiful center. With the front door on Plantage Kerklaan and the butt opened right in Artis Café Restaurant de Plantage. And that is a bit of Southern Europe in Amsterdam. It is large and high inside, with iron columns in the well-known Artis green, lots of marble and designer chairs as in Hotel de Nell in Paris. The Plantation is run by the owners of Dauphine and café-restaurant Amsterdam who entered into a collaboration with Natura Artis Magistra. From day one, the service, both inside and on the terrace, has been a bit of a sore point... Friendly, absolutely, but damn, a bit slow. Good thing the sun is shining when we are there. And it environment is so utterly beautiful. And the food is really damn good.
Actually, the whole Weesperzijde is a lot of fun when the sun is shining; It is not without reason that the quay is full of Amsterdam residents who are having a picnic with a view of the boats sailing past on the Amstel. You have there the Ysbreker, is nice. account, Naturally. And then we mention one more to this list: Bam Boa. It's fun and you've probably heard about it before (and seen it because it's a nice jacket!). Can we say that we secretly like Bam Boa the best from this list? Well, that's true and we must continue to share our honest Bart opinion. Anyway, back to the terrace. Because there is. Same place, another nice terrace. And that includes sun. Do we want more? Wine! And tasty treats to go with it, but you'll also find the right tables at Bam Boa for that. On to the Bam Boa!
Yes, well, it looks like we're going to move to the already oh-so-fun place Beukenplein. After all, this is where the conviviality resides restaurant/wine bar Clos and let us be very good at wines, food and wines and then food again. With a glass of wine. Only with your buttocks on a patio chair and we're done for the day. Anyway, we'll leave that all to Clos, because the terrace is there and so is the wine. You will receive a more than enthusiastic welcome and on a hot day they will ensure that you can sit comfortably and sheltered; plenty of room!

Ferry, West. Classic that changed hands but shows its most charming side every summer. The former ferry, we don't really know the owner.
Café Amsterdam. If we are going to talk about classics, then the narrow, France-like, holiday-esque terrace of Café Amsterdam should of course not be missed.
WestWeelde. On the waterfront, rustling reeds in the background, bitterbal there, nothing more you can do about it.
Café Lennep. On a deck on the canal in Oud-West, from early in the morning until late in the evening. And in that same atmosphere: Bar Kosta. What makes it all extra nice: at Bar Kosta you have sun all day long and also on the water. Nice people and cheerful and fast staff.
The Willem lives in that big white triumphal arch (Amsterdam style) aka The Willemspoort, at the end of the Haarlemmerdijk. Well, actually, it was never (isn't) called that; you probably know it better as the Haarlemmerpoort. If you cycle from the city centre towards Westerpark, you would hardly notice it, but there is a small but very lovely terrace by the waterfront. With a view of Westerpark, and all the good things about De Willem.
De Willem features a relaxed all-day café (right at number 66 as you enter) and a slightly more fancy restaurant (on the other side of the gate at number 58). We already had a drink at the café bar (nice!) and are now heading out onto the terrace starting in May!
One of the best, nicest, most beautiful, sunniest and tastiest is the terrace Tanay in Amsterdam West. And now that Caron's men have taken over, it's here better and tastier ever! Because it is really a neighborhood restaurant with a sunny terrace on one of the most beautiful bridges in the city, it is secretly not too busy at all times of the day. It is also not unimportant that the food is also very good to write home about.
Where are we sitting? On the terrace of Fred's Nephew. This cheerful friend is related to Arie (on the Corner) and (Bar) Bonnie. No real family, corn nun: catering family members. And that family is part of the Goudvisch group (or: the Wise Men from the East). Are you still there? Oh well, we don't mind. Many successful things have gone before them (the caravan, Louie Louie, just to name a few: there are many more) and now there is this very young addition to the Amsterdam catering map: Fred's Nephew. If you don't like mussels and cocktails, you don't have to Mussel & Gin, tucked away in the Westerpark. Although shrimp croquettes and fried chicken are also on the menu, and very fine white wines as well. On top of that, we have a soft spot for the wait staff here: always in good spirits and always coming up with a solution for us non-reservers (we aren't really into making reservations, we prefer to just drop in). If at all possible, they simply create a spot for you under the canopy of leaves and light bulbs. Including a bowl of water for the dehydrated dog. Heart. For quite a few summers in a row now.
Hello Caravan, beautifully done with endless amounts of plants and a mega terrace forever in the sun. Inside it is just as beautiful and there is no longer any 'wanting to go home'. A good glass of wine and a divine pita and dips, but they also just have loaded fries Don't worry. We call it a second home, for convenience.
We don't know whether it is exactly a terrace. It looks more like a beautiful roof terrace, full of greenery. The design of the bar is also very unique. With a few old cars, a jeu de boules court, and a small herb garden, it radiates Bar Bistro Desk a nice, spacious and yet cozy atmosphere. And let's also take a moment to admire the view from this roof terrace. A perfect place to enjoy the rays of sunshine that the Netherlands has to offer with friends, colleagues or family.
Okay okay, this one doesn't really fit West's agenda. But we really have to mention it. The Boathouse Nieuw-West is where you want to be when the sun is shining. Furnished for nice weather means a large and good terrace. And yes, on the water. On those sweltering summer days, which we will definitely have again, a dip for a change is not too much to ask. It's nice that there is a SUP company next door, so the kids (or you) can enjoy splashing in the water while you are enjoying your beer or wine. Come see that, come see that.
And further? Furthermore, you can go anywhere on site very well. Bee Troost brewery for example, where the beer tanks are in the middle of the store. You can enjoy it on the extensive terrace, with a good snack and the tastiest beer.
That also applies to Pacific ParkIn any case, the entire Westergas site is ideal if you want to sit on a terrace. There are plenty of them, so you'll have to find a spot. Just like at De Bakkerswinkel (scones!) and WestWeelde. So do you have choice stress? Then go here and everything will be fine no matter what.
If the weather is just a bit swaswa, or if it is too hot to sit in the sun: the terrace of the hotel restaurant Morgan & Mees is your answer. You sit in a lovely covered area, and the splendor of the hotel and restaurant surprises you every time. Moreover, in our view, it is one of the best places to meet people you don't meet up with very often. A business contact, for example. Or a first date. Why? Because it is safe Playing is; it is impossible not to be charmed by Morgan & Mees, whatever your taste. And should it start to drizzle a little, there is no panic here. That's nice too.
Do yourself a favor and cycle around to At home on the Amstel. Surprise hospitality and an unparalleled part of Amsterdam – unexpected too, for those who have never been. The House is really a bit of a home, or a home as you would like it to be. We are big fans, but you'll have to see for yourself.
We can DaalderWe really cannot leave unmentioned formerly Edel and then Edel by Dennis (and now Daalder). It’s impossible. It’s not allowed. Chef Dennis Huawei took over the place and created a delightful new, cool restaurant. The waterside terrace naturally remained, and it is excellent. The menu is fine, the service likewise, and it is one of the few places where you can—take note—reserve a table on the terrace.
Every day can a terrace days are. Provided the sun comes out, we like to sit and enjoy a well-filled glass. Fortunately, we have plenty of choice in Amsterdam.
To the Van der Helstplein there are several terraces (Indian Miry Mary, Renato's Osteria, Café Buhrs…). Especially if you sit at Renato's or Buhrs, the tall trees, lights and that 'square feeling' quickly give you the impression that you are in a village in France.
't Blauwe Theehuis has been our favorite in the Vondelpark for centuries and that's it - thank goodness – remained after the arrival of the guys from Brouwerij 't IJ. The white-and-blue colored icon from the park has been transformed into a tasting room, and what we notice most is that you can stick around on the terrace longer (literally) and order pizzas with your craft beer. Sounds like a great deal to us. In fact, suddenly we know again why we have to/want to/are going to Vondelpark tonight.
On the terrace at The College Bar & Lounge, you can escape the hustle and bustle of the city. The courtyard is surrounded by greenery, making it a lovely place to relax. Ideal for a leisurely breakfast, brunch, lunch, or to enjoy a delicious High Tea.

Once upon a time there was a bar called Glou Glou, a wine bar on a square in the shade (figuratively speaking because secretly there is often sun) of the Oranjekerk in de Pijp with only vin natural on the menu. Uncomplicated and an instant hit (by the way, it is a piece of cake that you don't get a hangover from natural wines: alcohol remains alcohol, even if there is little or no chemical junk in the wine - tried and tested. And proved).
Really nice, from new place to hot hang out Rushing around, but sometimes you're just dead tired of hot off the press and fresh off the page. Then you don't want anything so hot and happening, but simply nice. So what do you do? That's right, you turn to a golden oldie. The Bosch is such a restaurant, right on the Nieuwe Meer against the Amsterdamse Bos, close to the marina there. Het Bosch has been around for 40 years (older than this writer!), but that doesn't mean it's old-fashioned.
Not at all! There is a new generation at the helm these days that is giving the business a significant boost. upgrade and provided a nice dose of the present without losing the old charm that we appreciate the place so much for. And naturally, the place remains a lovely one; the kind you just have to know about, with a fantastic terrace by the water.
Can't wait for summer, man. And especially summer at Juliette and Jules's on sunny Valeriusplein. Juliette is there for all your business events to birthday parties.
For a nice Friday afternoon drink, or actually for any other time of the week, you have to go to bar Jules his (Juliette's lover). Fancy a bite to eat? The menu is spot on. The dishes are based on Southern European cuisine, hello pizza! But also just tasty bitterballen and everything from a good glass of rosé to a PICHI Margarita.
