Discover the Netherlands with WestCord Hotels.

Fan of small huts and cabins, fan of large, fancy hotels, but we are certainly also fans of the smaller hotel chains. Then you have the variation, the uniqueness per place, but you also have the guarantee that everything will be just right. That the staff is friendly, that the interior is on fleek, that the in-house catering industry has good dishes, that kind of thing. Exactly from this are the WestCord Hotels. A Dutch family business with the roots on Vlieland. They are located in several places in the Netherlands (seventeen in total, from Delft to Terschelling and everywhere in between).

From vibrant Rotterdam to the middle of nature on a Wadden Island, whatever you like. We highlight some of our favorites in this article, but the main motto here is: collect them all.

Always wanted to sleep on a cruise ship, but not a fan of the open ocean? Then it is ss Rotterdam the solution (you don't need sea legs for this). The former flagship of the Holland-America Line, the SS Rotterdam, now lies along the banks of the Maas. This means that you have a full view of the water. The ship is located just outside the busy city center, but you can get there in no time by water taxi. During a tour you get to see all corners of the ship and sail along back in the days to New York and the Dutch Merchant Navy.

You will find themed cabins such as the Bahamas or Manhattan for that real 'I'm-just-on-travel' feeling. So you don't have to travel far from home for that holiday luxury. Stroll on the deck, dine at de Club Room, Lido grill or an extensive wine tasting Ocean Wine Bar. It is not only an icon in the port of Rotterdam, but also the place with all kinds of entertainment for all ages (especially for the kids). From escape rooms, live performances to full theme evenings. Get that sailor suit out of the closet!

The Market Hotel, Groningen

The Market Hotel, Groningen

There's nothing like Groningen! Still one of the better slogans if you ask us. And when in Groningen, then nothing beats visiting (or better yet spending the night at) The Market Hotel, on the Grote Markt. If you spend the night at The Market Hotel, you are really a hop and skip away from all kinds of cozy restaurants, the Noorderplantsoen, the Martini tower and much more to mention. In the hotel itself you also have a number of nice places to sit. For pastry (or an ice cream sundae) you have to go there Bakery Westers are. You can get cocktails at the bar or on the terrace Café Willem Albert and you're in the right place for an evening out for dinner. Sort of Dutch cuisine with a new-fangled twist.

It's always best to experience it yourself, but when a hotel wins several awards, you know it's in good hands. All this in the pleasant center of Groningen, so whether you spend the whole day in the hotel/your room or whether you go out; it's a party.

Hotel Arsenaal Delft, Delft

Hotel Arsenaal Delft, Delft

Hotel Arsenal Delft was built in the 17e century, as a former warehouse for weapons, spices and other commodities. Now converted to one corporate shop style hotel right in the heart of the city Delft – the (student) city known for its history, bustle and lots of fun (i.e. never going home again). The hotel is only five minutes from the train station and a ten-minute walk from the Vermeer Center Delft. So just leave your mountain boots at home: it's time to stroll here. No matter how much you want to spend the day curling up in your king-size bed, having drinks in the Gastrobar, splashing under the rain shower or bubbling in your bath: don't forget to visit Delft. Visit the Old & New Church, Museum Prinsenhof and the Delftse Hout and then sit at the terraces, small cafés and restaurants where you can have a cup of coffee or an extensive dinner.

Last nightcap? That is possible at the gastrobar from Hotel Arsenaal, the right place for great gin & tonics. Where herbs and spices used to be stored here for trade, you can now find them in your cocktail.
