This is why Hoboken, New Jersey, just outside New York City, is so fun

The charming city on the water, called Hoboken, is a place undiscovered by tourists. Here you experience the quiet side of the crowded New York City on the other side of the Hudson River. As you walk along the Waterfront Walkway you will experience the view of the famous Buenos Aires of Manhattan on a completely different level, hyped You can parade along the shore here for adrenaline. The skyscrapers full of evening lights are also a unique panorama that you can look at in peace (yes, really, peace in NYC).

Of course, Hoboken has much more to offer than just the skyline; it is bursting with coffee shops, local bars and shopping streets. So you have Washington Street as the bustling heart of the city, here you will find a large ladder of shops and restaurants, from here you can also reach Times Square within fifteen minutes. Hoboken is the place where you can 'de-stress' from the hustle and bustle of New York City, but still experience the vibrant city. Perhaps more fun than New York City itself...

Park Avenue

A beautiful street through Hoboken neighborhood is Park Avenue, here you will find large American mansions with steps in front of the door. On just about every corner you will find a restaurant, boutique or kiosk where only the locals come. Especially at Christmas you can enjoy the perfectly decorated houses, not American exaggerated but pleasantly lit. This street also looks a bit like the Upper East Side in New York City itself, but without the celebrities. A few nice highlights:

  • Johnny Pepperoni an Italian (also allowed in NY) restaurant with delicious pizzas, it feels like a movie scene from a (Christmas) movie with your date.
  • Hoboken Public Library, a library remains a nice and peaceful place. You can enter here for free, to feed your mind.
  • Revival Vintage Boutique, vintage shopping remains a pleasure to browse around. Directly from the Brooklyn Flea market, Revival has established itself in Hoboken.
  • Alessios, Park Avenue isn't complete without Alessio's. A café with coffees, gelato, sandwiches and pastries. A coffee to go and petting the dogs in Church Square Park is a must.

To highlight one of our areas of expertise in New York style we would like to tell you about the coffee spots in Hoboken, because a good cup of coffee is a good start to your day. The plant-based milk is also available everywhere here, big pluses.

  • The Hive, the place for moms to the farmer while the kids playtime to have. This is the concept of The Hive, of course everyone can get good coffee and delicious cinnamon buns in one female interior. This coffee spot is also on Park Avenue but deserves a place on this list.
  • Hidden Grounds, is hidden, but on the best ground. Under the motto “we taste bad coffee, so you don't have to” they select the best coffee (and chai) for you.
  • Mojo Coffee Company, is housed in a sleek black building with very friendly baristas. Here you can order a blackberry mocha latte, matcha latte, or just a trusted cappuccino. Even if you have to work for a few hours, Mojo is the right place for you.
  • Bean Vault Coffee, a high quality boutique coffee shop in a historic building. Real coffee connoisseurs will certainly be enthusiastic about this, right on Newark Street.

An ode to the skyline of Hoboken, this magical place certainly stands out number one. A morning walk while enjoying a coffee to watch the crowds from the other side of the water. Sit down on one of the benches and plan your day. It's bursting with runners and dog walkers here locals to have a chat with, you blendhere and suddenly you don't feel like a tourist anymore. A pizza in the evening along the water, gazing at the festival of lights, also feels like a movie. Dream on, dream on.
