Oasis

Oasis

Oasis is located on Noordsingel, and you might still remember it by its old name: Mecca. Same owners, but a new style. They wanted something a little more. So now it's not just coffee and breakfast, but also the occasional meat dish and cocktails in the evening. The cuisine draws inspiration from the Middle East, North Africa, and the Mediterranean, but they don't want to be tied down and cook seasonally and intuitively. The atmosphere is laid back, there is and will remain space to work and meet, and the terrace is a great place to sit.

When you say coffee in Rotterdam, you say Man met Bril (Man with Glasses). Good cups of coffee, nice people. Count us in. Also cool: they also have a coffee hotel! Kula

Kula is located in the cool Little C residential complex, near Coolhaven. It's a beautiful place, has a great atmosphere, and a menu you'll want to order everything from. They offer breakfast, lunch, snacks for drinks, and even pre-yoga dinners (if you want to be completely balanced). Everything here revolves around nutritious and comfort food. Think bowls, various nourishing soups, and good coffee. We think the terrace is perhaps the best part, so head to Kula in the summer (and when the sun shines, ofcourse)

The Usual Rotterdam - sleep, work, breakfast (and repeat)

For those who don't know yet: we are big fans of The Usual in RotterdamGreat place, top location, and multifunctional without any fuss. You can sleep, have breakfast, work, and even do a bit of people-watching. That is the way we like. Let that breakfast take priority right away: fresh rolls, yoghurt with granola, Overnight Oats, eggs, muffins, pastries from local bakeries. You get the idea, a real treat.

Don't feel like starting the day right away? Just hang around for another round. No rush here. Oh, and work? The Usual is the perfect escape when you can't handle your kitchen table or open-plan office. Quiet co-working space (free!). Want to know more? We get it. Read it here.

Bertmans

Bertmans

Bertmans is the place to be if you want to eat healthy without it being boring. Everything here is super fresh, organic, and often gluten-free or vegan. And yes, it's really delicious. They're in a beautiful, bright building with a bit of a Scandinavian vibe. Going later in the day? Then definitely try the Asian salad with duck confit, oyster mushrooms, and pumpkin. So good. This is the place to go if you want to give your body something good (even after a weekend of junk food). A bit more upscale than the rest, but never enough: treat urself, right? Also a great tip to stay for dinner.

Nine Bar

Nine Bar

Nine Bar is right in the heart of the city, yet it feels like a hidden gem. It's always bustling with a mix of locals, expats, students, and creatives. And the name? It comes from the 9-bar pressure needed for the perfect espresso. That's right. Whether you settle in or grab a spot on the terrace, the atmosphere is relaxed and the coffee is top-notch. Don't expect a lengthy menu, but good basics, a great vibe, and a place where you can easily spend an hour.
