Pizzeria Klaproos Amsterdam
Gotta love Amsterdam North, the Amsterdam zone where you will find the nicest, most inspiring and most fun initiatives of the moment Although prices have risen considerably in recent years, there is still room for creative ideas, where something cool (sorry my French, quite hate 'bold' as an expression of enthusiasm but hey, what's done is done) can be made of. May I introduce you to Pizzeria Poppy. Don't mention it.
Pizzeria Klaproos started as a temporary pizza joint where everything is good, old-fashioned and uncomplicated: delicious (really delicious!) pizzas (not too many choices, but the right ones), a laid-back atmosphere (at least, that's what we got the impression it was only friends of owner Max). Now it's definitely no longer temporary, and on Friday and Saturday nights it's also a lively bar for dancing, and we're happy about that.
In the street around Klaproos you will also find nice extras: when the weather is nice there is sometimes an ice cream truck at Klaproos and there are several other ice cream trucks in the area For drinks or dessert. The overall atmosphere feels relaxed, welcoming, and exactly how you want a neighborhood pizza place to be.
A little more about that bar: Every Friday and Saturday night, this restaurant transforms into a trendy bar. The lights are dimmed, a DJ spins, and there's dancing. And if you get there before 22 pm, you'll be there in time for a delicious pizza. If you're looking for a private dinner, they have several rooms for that too. Just send an email.
The pizzas are excellent, as we mentioned. They're baked in a brick oven and are also affordable: around 20 euros and offer a good base for the rest of the evening. Favorite? The Lucifera with n'duja (spreadable sausage). There's also the Vegano (the name says it all: vegan) with potato, mushroom, and vegan cheeses, and the Cicciolina with mascarpone, caramelized onion, gorgonzola, olives, and walnuts. Delicious. much.
Also "delicious": the terrace for the summer! We're talking northerners! So there's plenty of space and sunshine. Even if you're too late for pizza, it's a treat, both inside and out, and you can also enjoy antipasti snacks (burrata!!).
