Never enough: the most beautiful posters, prints and art

We love art, real art, made with love and preferably for the wall. That is true, but our stock market likes it a little less. That's okay, there have been so many cool, affordable alternatives available lately, and with a nice frame around it, we wallpaper our house with it with a lot of love and pleasure. 'So very much', yes, that's right. Sometimes we too can no longer see the forest for the trees. Hence an overview is urgently needed never enough posters, prints and, okay, big fat real art made with love in your home! In our view, these are the most beautiful labels, often from Dutch manufacturers.

Factory

Factory

The Danish FABREK is exactly why we all (okay, that's lumped together - let's just say) love everything that comes from Scandinavia. Fresh and light yet full of color (especially pastel). There are classics and there are everyone's favorites that would not look out of place on any wall. We initially fell for FABREK because of the poster collection, but nowadays we are also hooked on the clumsy-looking and therefore so nice ceramics and even the (pastel-colored) candles that are sold there are beautiful. HK LIVING - the art collection

HK LIVING - the art collection

It has been mentioned many times here: we enjoy everything the men of HK Living do. Everything beautiful. Simple. Point. We want sofas, tables, cupboards, vases, crockery and rugs – as long as they come from the minds of the Dutch makers.

HK Living has previously shown that it also has an understanding of art through collaborations with, for example, Tiny Stories. And now there is a new colorful collection that we really love. Exactly the right color combinations, nice and large sizes and timelessly beautiful canvases that will never get boring. Sigh.

LegendaryWallPosters

LegendaryWallPosters

Holiday Magazine is a legendary magazine with always the most amazing covers. The historical covers in particular are true collector's items for the wall. You can buy them in different sizes, for example via Legendary Wall Posters via Etsy! This seller also has many other cool things. Handsome boy keeping his shopping cart empty.

Eau de Marie

Eau de Marie

Prints that you will want to hang up, now! That is Eau de Marie. Paintings on cotton paper in organic winding, beautiful shapes in, for example, jeans blue, coral red, beige or black. Framed or standing against the wall on the cupboard or in the bookcase. Just as nice. Now 3D art works of art have recently become available at Eau de Marie. In white tones and sand colors. Clean and fresh. There is no website yet, but there is soon to be!

Cate Adriana

Cate Adriana

No no no! Cate doesn't do print and no no no, she doesn't have posters but only her beautiful hand-painted work. But because we think it is so beautiful, and the price-quality ratio is incredible, Cate really had to be mentioned here.

Check her out instagram page en her site for her work.

Mei Fang Tan

Mei Fang Tan

The queen of modest, apparently simple works of art. Beautiful setting suns, lovely off tones and just the right use of a layer of gold. She also makes custom illustrations, also delicious. Check her out instagram account, and then immediately tap 'follow', you won't regret it: every picture is spot on.

Printed Goods

Printed Goods

The most wonderfully original colorful goodies (literally: we love it) for your wall, in or without a frame (there are also wall hangings!). Everything made and designed by two British twin brothers with a beautiful life motto: 'bringing art to the everyday'. And we love them for doing so!

We are especially delighted with the designs of George, one of the two brothers, from which he makes fantastic 'trows', or wall hangings. You can get such a lovely tapestry from £160. The rugs are all unique and made of 100% cotton. Pay attention to the size so that you don't end up with a bad purchase at home: returning is not that easy. But hey, there's a small chance you'll make a mistake.

Hotel Magique

Hotel Magique

The nice Milou Neelen is one of the best illustrators we know. She made the first Barts Boekje logo (we now have a different logo: the site is busy, so the logo needed to be a little more relaxed, remember that) and the illustrations for all three Little Escapes books. And Milou has a HUGE art and poster label: Hotel Magique. Her work on your wall. In print, and, if you want (we have one too, so beautiful!), a one of a kind work of art, hand-painted in Bali by Milou. Oh, and while you're at it: Hotel Magique has the coolest collaborations with the coolest brands on earth. And bedding. And a ring. Oh well, you'll find it all Hotel Magique

Via Martine

Via Martine

Through whom? Via Martine. Because through Martine you can have posters made from your own Instagram snapshots. And yes, you certainly want that. At least… Many people would like that. It doesn't get more personal and contemporary. It couldn't be simpler either: choose what you want on the site (a card? A collage? A calendar?), log in with your own IG account at the bottom of the Via Martine screen. Then your photos will be loaded and you can choose. Or continue shopping! You can also buy a poster with a pen drawing, and attractive posters of Ibiza. Or letters… Well, go and see for yourself.

NoblePosters via Etsy

NoblePosters via Etsy

You know the beautiful one oldskool Matisse posters, right? Or one of the other well-known, time-honored, unsurpassed artists from the past? Often an announcement of an exhibition from – for example – 1960. Beautiful in your interior, but gosh, where did you get that poster?! We are hooked on Noble Posters, a sales site we found through Etsy. This shop has a strikingly large number of posters from the most famous artists and the quality is top.

ROGUE

ROGUE

Do we like posters…? What do you think? The walls of Bart HQ are fuller than full and every now and then we change things up. With what do you ask? A mix and match of different Art Prints such as from this list. Indispensable? The selection of it to delight. Mandy, the founder of Rogue, single-handedly chose her favorites from a handful of providers and it turned out quite (understatement) well! Do you like lots of color and summery shades? Rogue got you covered. Do you prefer the black and white, less busy designs? Ditto. There are beautiful things from our favorite Hôtel Magique: graphic designs in black and white or in those just-right colors.

My Deer Art Shop

My Deer Art Shop

Another webshop to love: My Deer Art Shop. We are unabashed fans of the work of interior designer Maaike Koster and – lucky us – this lady also makes beautiful art prints. In 2014, Maaike started My Deer Art Shop, where she sells her posters with botanical and feminine influences. Most works are made with watercolor and the letters are drawn by hand. And what's nice: everything is limited edition. The prints are printed on 250 gram photo paper.

Yvette Heeren

Yvette Heeren

We all want these special posters or rather works of art on the wall. The genius behind this art work, Yvette Heeren, makes everything by hand. This makes each work unique, so even extra special. She uses different techniques and materials such as gold leaf, acrylic paint and chalk paint. She makes colorful works and also quieter works in different patterns. Something for everyone. We love!

roeqie via Etsy

roeqie via Etsy

The Dutch-Egyptian Roeqiya Fris makes surprisingly fresh illustrations that are really completely different. A statement in your home for a small price. Enjoy. Especially because with a real Roeqie you can bring the (summer) holidays into your home and that for a few tens of euros. We are fans, now you are too.

(also nice: Roeqiya made a collection for HEMA! Notebooks and such. Collect them all)

Nynne Rosenvinge

Nynne Rosenvinge

The main reason to play with posters and wall art? It's the simplest, quickest and most effective way to bring color into your home! You can play as much as you want: it can be adjusted again in no time. Playing with color, that's exactly 'the middle name' by the Danish Nynne Rosenvinge: in addition to awesome posters (look at that! You want it), she also makes clothing and always uses the most wonderfully subdued but outspoken colors, and knows how to combine them just right.

The posters with the city names are also nice. Travel junkies that we are.

Never not Questions about the Holiday posters via @bartsboek. The answer has been given many times: in the house for years and untraceable. Sorry. What we did find again is the Etsy shop where we once bought them! Ha! Bold Modern is the name, and the club sells typographic prints in various large formats and is one of the few 'origionals'. For almost a decade, Bold Modern has been working closely with exhibition and interior design professionals, delivering unique images in sharp image quality on all print sizes. Here we found a number of Holiday Posters. Different, but just as cool.

ARTIS posters

ARTIS posters

Yes ARTIS, the zoo, is not only the perfect place to be to spot animals with the little stuff; they also have super nice posters of different plants. Each plant/flower (there are four) has a different color background (lilac purple, soft pink, beige and soft blue), making the posters cheerful and a statement on the wall in a large frame. For example, we have a showpiece hanging on the wall at Bart's office! Pleased!

The Poster Club

The Poster Club

Okay, okay, it's an open goal, but still... You can score a surprisingly fantastic print at The Posterculb for next to nothing. And really not the kind you see everywhere... As we speak, we want to wallpaper a wall with announcement posters from all kinds of galleries at home and abroad, like the one on the right. In any case, The Posteclub mainly sells those beautiful, modest posters that look oh so chic in your home. Tip: on a large website such as The Posterclub you can easily search by atmosphere and color. Because if you wonder how people always get those matching works on their walls, the answer is: search by atmosphere or color! Everything abstract or always looking for a shade of ocher yellow (or old pink or green… you get the point)

LRNCE

LRNCE

We have never made a secret of it here: we love everything creative, Marrakech-based. There is color, but always in exactly the right shades and proportions that you never seem to get tired of. There is everything from the label, and you definitely want to go to the shop, but anyone who buys one of the canvases online (literally: it's thick fabric and plump embroidery) will be happy just the same. In our opinion, never bored and for just under 1000 euros you can have a beautiful unique work of art in your home.

Art Studio only

Art Studio only

Color, anyone? Then you really have to contact Enkel Art Studio. All their colorful, simple but striking work is done by Esther and Marijn. The two have taste, check them out instagram page just once. Definitely a good idea for some inspiration. And they immediately put the prices next to their work, which is handy.

Sales are via the Etsy webshop. You'll find it here.

Tiny Stories

Tiny Stories

We love Tiny. Tiny? Yup! Tiny, Tiny de Vries to be complete, is the brain behind the beautiful Tiny Stories. From that label she illustrates and paints small pieces from her life. They are all snapshots, translated into abstract shapes, loose line drawings and beautiful, often soft colors. Her work smells of nature, of waving reeds and a soft breeze, of undiscovered places and the rising sun. But also to curling up with a good book by the fireplace, to fragrant oil after a warm bath and to a long, sweet kiss.

GURILLA DESIGN

GURILLA DESIGN

Beautiful dreamy prints in which a person can always be recognized, but always anonymous and vague in the most beautiful pastel shades. Believe us, this will improve your sleek pen drawing! The anonymous face behind the print is Guðrið Syderbø. Yes. So that. Guðrið lives on the Faroe Islands where the nature is beautiful and where you will find one of the best restaurants in the world. The islands are also ridiculously far away and anyone who lives there has to find a hobby. And, in our opinion, a bit vague... That may explain the works (which we think are beautiful). The postman just arrives: Guðrið sends her posters all over the world. Apart from shipping costs, a poster is only 77 euros. And then you probably have something that no one else has.

TRAVEL PRINTS: ANNE H COPENHAGEN + STUDIO ESINAM + WYCK

TRAVEL PRINTS: ANNE H COPENHAGEN + STUDIO ESINAM + WYCK

I can make (almost) any city in the world, That's the headline on Anne H Copenhagen's Instagram account and we think she's right. Travel-loving as we are, we find the simple illustrations of city maps and iconic buildings quite indispensable at home. And this is our favorite one, where we score them instagram account. Anne H Copenhagen, and her tasteful cards that feel like a fingerprint. But perhaps we think the prints from Studio Esinam from Sweden are even more beautiful. Oh well, judge for yourself.

Wijck is also very Dutch and has a tiny but very nice shop in the Utrechtsestraat in Amsterdam. Read more: Wijck

Isabelle Feliu's designs are beautiful botanical drawings in striking colors and we also like the pastel-tinted works of French Toast Studio. Oh, and don't forget the beautifully drawn portraits full of strong women and tropical plants in an atmosphere from the 60s, 70s and 80s. Anyway, filling walls, that's what Rogue does very well. And: you too stash You can supplement with beauty products thanks to the good collection of cruelty-free and clean products.
