Cheese fondue at 't Goede Uur in Haarlem
A household name in Haarlem for many years: Restaurant in the Good Hour. What do you eat here? Fondue and raclette. Raclette and fondue. There is something else on the menu, but that's not really why you come here. That fondue has been on the menu for 45 years. Forty-five. Year. Then you have to be very sure of your recipe. And we are indeed convinced.
De basic Cheesefondue, or Cheese Fondue in 't Goede uur, is prepared with organic Gouda cheese and Gruyere. But if you want to go a bit more exotic, there is also, for example, Fondue Koyt where the Jopen Brewery has a strong finger in the pie. This spicy cheese fondue is made based on it Jopen koyt beer with Provencal herbs, juniper berries and a dash of young jenever. That's nice.
Very nice: the Kees-Fondue. Kees, a certain Kees, had to pay a little attention to the fat (don't we all Kees?) and since then Kees has made a fondue of it vegetable fats. All in all, you could say: a more responsible fondue.
It is useful to make a reservation at 't Goede Uur because with thirteen tables the place fills up quickly. Expect The Good Hour a cozy but old-fashioned tent in the oh so nice Vijfhoek. If you don't have time or would rather dip that bread in that cheese walhalla at home on the couch? Then you can also pick up that oh so delicious fondue at 't Goede Uur. Just heat it up at home. Child can do the laundry.
Would you rather be in Amsterdam? In Amsterdam East we recommend Fondue East where, among other things, Truffle fondue is on the menu. Read more: Fondue East
