These are the nicest restaurants in Eindhoven

We sing: Oh Eindhoven Is Wonderful and at the end of the evening your stomach is overfull again. You can say whatever you want about Eindje, but there are few cities with such an innovative character where design and technology can be seen everywhere. While shopping, but also while eating. And you have plenty of choice, Eindhoven the tastiest. We recommend the best ones restaurants in Eindhoven.

Going to the City of Light with the kids? We got you.

Casa Savór

Casa Savór

Hospitality entrepreneur Tim de Roos, the creative mind behind Stadspaviljoen and Mood, opened Casa Savór. A Mediterranean restobar on Hoogstraat.

Here, once again, everything is meant to be shared, from charred green asparagus with orange, harissa ricotta, and pecan to an Italian steak tartare with anchovies, Parmesan, and capers. Dishes that evoke sun, sea, and good company. The menu is short but powerful, with a clear nod to Italian and Spanish cuisine.

NEV

And so, quite some time ago, it opened again restaurant Nev, a modern Turkish restaurant. Nev came into existence thanks to the partners of chef Nilay Taşkıntuna and co-owner Ender Kaynar, who work at chip giant ASML. Nilay and Ender themselves come from different parts of Turkey, but here in Eindhoven they found each other in a shared dream: a Turkish restaurant that does things just a little differently. No standard mezze, but a modern interpretation of what Turkish hospitality can also be.

They started in the former Goyvaerts restaurant, literally ready to move in. It is the wine and the surprise menus that are selling like hotcakes. The highlights of the menu? Definitely the 'kadayifli karnabahar köfte', vegetarian cauliflower balls.

Café Barolo

Café Barolo

Café Barolo is the reason why a trip to Spain is a little lower on the wish list this year. Café Barolo is the wine bar where you can just as easily order a bottle as a few croquettes. And that place was missing. Enter: Café Barolo, on the Keizersgracht. They settled in the former premises of florist Oktober in Huis. Behind the bar: Jan Groot, who you may know from The Wine Bar by Bobby's in Helmond and as host at Zarzo and Zuid. And, at least as important, chef and entrepreneur Adrian Zarzo, the man who previously entered Eindhoven with Zarzo, Zuid and Bodega by Zarzo.

Adrian was brought up with the foundation for the new restaurant in Benaguasil, Spain, near Valencia, where his family ran a restaurant where grandma made paella, children peeled prawns and churros con chocolate were the basis. Outside is a small terrace and inside you order from the display cases full of Spanish cheeses, hams and jars of olives. Tapas as you would hope to find them: boquerones, charcuterie, prawns al ajillo and of course albondigas and patatas bravas, straight from Adrian's grandmother's family book. And more than 300 bottles on the menu.

James

James

In one word: delicious. The interior, the dishes and the friendly. James Bistro and Bar is a new kid in town and here to stay. Not as raw and industrial as some restaurants in Eindhoven itself, but rather described as classically French and hot and cozy. The Bistro & Bar is open from Wednesday to Friday from 17:00 PM for a dinner including steak tartare and scallops as a starter, tournedos and mussels for main and tarte tartin or a dame blanche after. Oh and don't forget the fries from De Frietbar. During the weekend they are open from 12:00 noon and in addition to lunch you can also walk into James's or make a reservation for same French menu. When you think of France, you think of wine? Then the drinks menu is perfect for you. Oysters, brioche or cheese in one hand and a good glass of wine in the other.

What do they owe that beautiful interior to? Tales on Tiles was able to make the tiling for the entrance. With James you no longer have to take the Thalys to Paris, but you can take the NS to Eindhoven.

Dodo

Dodo

Another reason to get out of bed earlier. On the corner of Gerardusplein and Hortensiastraat, right where the morning sun hits, Dodo its doors.

Coffee, Sourdough bread, Viennese pastries. Viennewat? A fancy French word for anything between bread and pastries. Think: croissants, pains au chocolat, brioches, cinnamon rolls and Danishes.

Inside you will also find sourdough breads to build your Sunday on, as well as delicious coffees.

boiler house

boiler house

The living room of the former Strijp-S business park, hello boiler house. It's just a nice place with good food, but also a location for the craziest parties. What makes it extra fun is bread from their own bakery, honey from the bee colony on the roof, herbs from their own roof garden, olive oil from their orchard in Portugal and animals and vegetables from local farmers. Creative and we like that. The Ketelhuis and menu change with the seasons. In winter it is wonderful inside, but in summer it is best to go outside to peek at creativity. And not only in the Ketelhuis itself, there are also plenty of events around the Ketelhuis.

Not only do we like special parties, Ketelhuis also likes special beers, cocktails and live music.

Radio Royal

Radio Royal

Just knock on the door of the neighbors of Ketelhuis and you walk in Radio Royal. Hoppa, machines aside, space free and Radio Royaal got a spot. Radio Royaal is located in the engine room at Strijp-s, next to the boiler house and the clock building. It may not sound like much to you, but that is three hundred square meters of industrial design. You can still see those machines that were pushed aside.

And you can have a good party there, but you can also just enjoy delicious food. Here you choose a 3-course menu for €43,00. Of course you can also have lunch. The center of the city is a bit further walk, but Radio Royaal can be found opposite the Strijp-S station.

NOVA

NOVA

NOVA kitchen bar is ideal for when you want something a little different. In the lovely Bergstraat, just outside the center, you can choose dishes from a surprising and original menu. At the helm of Nova are hostess Maaike Driessen and chef Martien Pruijmboom, who previously worked at Piet Hein Eek's equally fine restaurant. No surprise where the bar comes from, designed by Piet Hein Eek of course. They have made a lot of changes to the building where they are now located: the old pub was transformed into a living room space with sliding doors that open wide, house plants and wooden tables with various lamps on them.

Dropping by for a drink is a good idea, just like for a late lunch or early dinner. The business is open from twelve to six and until eight o'clock on Fridays and Saturdays. Not for a quick bite, but if you want something a little more luxurious. Think of crab legs with vegetable curry and samphire, roasted pumpkin and the already famous pork belly.

Lucie Cocina

Lucie Cocina

Are you in Spain? No, it is still Eindje that strikes the clock, but it is a lot of fun with Lucie Cocina, and especially tasty too. There is a nice restaurant on the Kleine Berg (we already told you we are fans). The atmosphere is authentic and the bites are incredibly tasty.

When you enter Lucie Cocina, you will imagine yourself in a stylish and hip version of an authentic Spanish food bar. Just the way we like it. At Lucie Cocina you dine at long bars and you can watch the chefs at work as they prepare the most delicious dishes. The menu is extensive and varied: from traditional tapas such as Iberico ham, tortilla with aioli and veal meatballs in tomato sauce, to seafood, salads, brioches (the brioche with anchovies and smoked butter is an absolute must), cold starters and warm main courses. The wine list is just as impressive. The Spanish wines come from family houses that work sustainably and ecologically.

Dinner in Motion

Dinner in Motion

A good plate of food is important, very important, when choosing a restaurant. But sometimes we want more than that. Then we want a truly different experience. And that is when we turn to Dinner in Motion in the center of Eindhoven. In this 360-degree restaurant, it is all about wonder, taste, and technology. We don't want to give too much away, but if you make a reservation here, you will embark on an imaginative journey where every dish seamlessly blends with the spectacular images that come to life on the table and all around you.

Great: you don't have to wear virtual reality glasses, because the entire space changes into a decor: from mysterious worlds to colorful landscapes. Even better: you don't have to leave your chair. You sit at a long table together with other guests, but with enough space between the seats to enjoy in all comfort and privacy. Whether you are with your partner, your family, your friends or a group of colleagues, it is guaranteed that everyone will have a good time.

The extensive course menu (from €89) is tailored to the scenes of the show. Dinner in Motion is located in the Piazza and easily accessible by car and train. Open from Wednesday to Sunday.

Table by Pippens

Table by Pippens

“What was this?” we shouted in unison as we walked out, a little surprised by all the impressions we had just gained during the dinner led by Pepijn at Table by Pippens. When we made a reservation in advance the 'old-fashioned' way - no reservation system, just waiting until you receive an email back - we actually already knew that we were coming for a special experience.

THE TABLE is PIPPENS' culinary creative restaurant. You sit next to each other, on the outside of the TABLE. On the inside, TEAM PIPPENS prepares a 'Table d'Hôte' menu (food from the pot) with an emphasis on refinement, sharing, experience and personal attention. They serve an evening-filling culinary STORY, with drinks as an integral part of the menu. The menu starts at 18:30 PM and the evening ends at 22:30 PM at the latest. Which menu will you be served? That varies from time to time. For example, once upon a time there was a 'wrong' menu with a touch of guilty pleasure, wrong films and wrong music. In addition, there was the 'future' menu in which a crystal ball looks at today, yesterday and the future.

For THE TABLE by PIPPENS you can buy a ticket for 89 euros per person, drinks included. Perfect for a 'different night out'.

IRIS

IRIS

Why eat in your own living room when you can do it in IRIS's? In their own words, they are located in the nicest neighborhood in Eindhoven (the Iris neighborhood) and we also find it very pleasant in this residential area. Nice on the sidewalk, nice in the courtyard or in the living room. A bit like a brown café, but with quality where vegetables get their deserved attention. And of course every restaurant in 2024 cooks with ingredients that the seasons give us, but at IRIS they put their hands into the fire. Every month they change the menu with new dishes with vegetables in the leading role. All this does not mean that there are only vegetarian dishes on the menu; They always have fish dishes on the menu and dishes that are completely vegan. Where do we see that café feeling again? The menu features beers from our own country and abroad. They get the wines around the corner from Bottle Shop, where they also select wines every month that match the new dishes. Cheers.

IRIS

The Casera

The Casera

La Casera is there when we feel like indulging and snacking, but especially when we are in the mood for wine. In this new wine bar, you will find the very best products from Piedmont, Italy. The wine selection is enormous, and all wines are available by the glass. Just as impressive is the range of beautiful cheeses and hams served alongside. It is the ideal wine bar for 'we're going to grab a drink somewhere beforehand'. Although it is hard to resist the charcuterie board and not fill your stomach.

Max

Max

Spanish cuisine is not nearly as complicated as we Dutch sometimes make it with all our 'fusions'. At Casa Pepe no frills, but an authentic Spanish atmosphere with a menu that can be used for both drinks and dinner. Tapas straight from the large wood oven, while you sip on a carefully selected, affordable wine. And Casa Pepe would not be allowed to call itself Spanish without tasty cervezas and sangria on the menu.

Now the only question left is when that warm summer evening will come, so that we can enjoy the Spanish atmosphere on the terrace.

Wood

Wood

That Eindhoven understands Spanish cuisine is clear by now, but my lord, what a delicious Italian restaurant they have here too. Hout ranks among the top for the best pizzas and focaccia I have ever eaten, and that is no understatement. Nicky and Derk van Westenbrugge's establishment was named one of the seven best pizzerias in the Netherlands by 50 Top Pizza World, and in September 2025, the business moved to new premises at Philitelaan 57.

No fuss here (except that you cut your pizza with scissors), just authentic Neapolitan pizzas made with only the best flour, Brabant water, fresh yeast, salt, and plenty of patience, love, and time for the perfect crust. In addition to a mix of traditional and modern pizzas, you will also find a wide assortment of antipasti, pastas, and Italian lunches, such as various focaccia and salads. They have mastered this art gluten-free as well, even using a separate oven to prevent cross-contamination.

The new interior is light, with lots of wood and rattan lamps.

And on Monday, the week starts off right with Gourmet Monday. Each edition offers a new exclusive menu during a full evening dinner: carefully prepared high-end pizzas, elegant dishes, and large bottles of wine. Bring it on. And bring on those risotto croquettes too.

Vestdijk47

Vestdijk47

A piece of Asia and France in Eindje. Vestdijk47 in the PULLMAN Cocagne Hotel cooks with French techniques and Asian influences. Within walking distance of the Central Station lies the fine hotel with an even finer restaurant. Not a hip restaurant, but a modern look, good bites on the menu and a gigantic wine cabinet next to the tables.

You can order a 3-course or 4-course menu or separately from the menu. Our choices? Go for the chef's menu with a Ceviche of Sea Bass, Bavette and the cheese platter. Of course with a number of good wines from the cabinet.

Brasserie Bellevue

Brasserie Bellevue

The Kleine Berg in Eindhoven, we will also talk about it later, is by far the nicest (entertainment) street in the Brabant city of light. Foodbar Mr. was always there. Sister and that was okay, but it only became really fun when that place made way for Brasserie Bellevue; a brasserie as it sounds. Actually, the main disadvantage is that the business is not in Paris, but other than that, a lot is going well. An informal French city brasserie they call it themselves, with Fruits De Mer, onion soup, Bouillabaisse and Croquettes de Crevettes on the small, excellent menu. Oh, and a very attractive wine list.

Brasserie Bellevue

Restaurant EL Puente

Restaurant EL Puente

'The Culinary World Tour', reads the subtitle of Restaurant El Puente and while we often find such texts a bit too pompous, at Stratumseind 64 it is exactly right. That said: take that surprise menu. Then you do the chef a favor and he ensures that you have a great evening. Also important during the summer months: Restaurant El Puente has a very nice terrace opposite the Van Abbemuseum.

FIFTH / the NRE site

FIFTH / the NRE site

The former Philips factories, you know, Strijp S and Strijp R, have faced competition from it NRE site, one of the oldest places in the Brabant City of Light where nothing actually happened until recently. For example, you can go to the cycling café Cyclist, but also to FIFTH NO a fact. In a large, bright warehouse you can enjoy breakfast, lunch, dinner or just a drink all day long. There is its own coffee roaster, a large inviting restaurant with really good food, a (cocktail) bar and a stage for, mainly, jazz performances. A shed. So big. So run. Okay.

At Albrecht

At Albrecht

High-level plant-based eating is what you need At Albrecht are. You know, the kind of restaurant where you wonder if there's art or food on your plate. And that art is not just for vegans, but for everyone who enjoys good food. Here's how to choose one 4-or 5-course with (non) alcoholic drink or wine package.

Chef Manfred's mission is catering with a minimal footprint, inspiring for a plant-based lifestyle.

We bet you won't miss any fish or meat after a dinner at Bij Albrecht.

L'Avenue Vin & Cuisine

L'Avenue Vin & Cuisine

If we want to people-watch (and luxury bags, high heels and fancy cars) in Eindhoven, Eindje for initiates, then we head to the Kleine Berg. There's a lot of good stuff there anyway (hello Restaurant Wiesen, see you soon) and it is by definition the zip code where we prefer to spend time on an average Friday evening in Eindhoven (see reasons mentioned earlier). So there, in the bend, is also the friendly L'Avenue Vin & Cuisine. That's what it sounds like: wine + cuisine. Okay. Those wines are all good anyway (no idea? Just tell them that, then text and explanation will follow), but then you just have to wait and see what the kitchen does... Ha! 10 points there too. Cheap? No. Not that. Tasty? Methinks! We talk for a long time about the sardines (not just from a can: no, delicious on toasted bread and dressed with a tomato and something tasty (forgot what again because hey, that Vin) and the oil in that well-known sardine can on the side. And what else did we have? Oysters of course, and, and and and… Oh well, go for it yourself. Top evening assured. Provided that your dining companions are in just as good spirits as the rest of the street, of course.

Barracks

Barracks

From Strijp-S, continue to the center and then this is perhaps the most impressive restaurant on this list. About the Barracks we can be brief: eating, drinking, sleeping and work by design talent, all in the former military police barracks. But this deserves a little more explanation. At Kazerne in Eindhoven you will never be bored during a dinner and that is an easy way to fill an evening with less pleasant dining company. You eat and drink in De Kazerne literally in the middle of the exhibition that is showing at that moment. Not ordinary exhibitions, but quite special, often with a link to Dutch Design.

You can then sleep in Kazerne Hotel.

Piet Hein Eek

Piet Hein Eek

Piet Hein Eek, who doesn't know him. The designer studied at the Design Academy in Eindhoven. So one thing led to another and now you will find Piet Hein Eek in the heart of the center, which is a studio, hotel, shop and restaurant. And the restaurant of that hotel, that's what we're going to talk about. The restaurant in the lobby guarantees design. The restaurant is part of the Wonder Room, where you can browse among works of art, antiques and design. There is also a lovely roof terrace. For example, for lunch you can opt for a well-filled ciabatta and for dinner a delicious curry or sole. Inspiration? Check. A wonderful pit stop during a stop? Yes.

Restaurant Wiesen

Restaurant Wiesen

Back to the Kleine Berg in Eindhoven. Because yes, of course there is also a hell of a restaurant with a star (or should we say 'a mountain of a restaurant'?). Restaurant Wiesen is the name and Wiesen (we may say Wiesen) is one of those places where it's just great, without the threshold being too high. What's called: the terrace in front of the door beckons just as much as the rest of the street on the most beautiful days of the year. The menu is refined, the service is correct with a touch of Brabant coziness and the business is easy to get through.

Fatherland, Dutch laws

Fatherland, Dutch laws

You have to leave the city for this great spot, but trust us: you won't regret it. At gastronomic erf Fatherland pull up a chair every Friday (and occasionally on Thursday or Saturday) for all the goodies that the Brabant soil has to offer. That's right, this is one of those places where everything is in balance and where they work with love and respect for the Fatherland. You reserve a table here for an evening-filling dinner with matching wines or (homemade) alcohol-free alternatives. The dishes that pass by are artfully prepared with seasonal ingredients from our own garden and responsible meat from hunters and honest farmers from the area. An evening at Vaderland is a total experience that is right. From the art on the wall to the works of art on your plate.
