One of the nicest restaurants that yours truly has visited in recent months? You have to Brasserie Seymour being in the always pleasant Haarlem. Always fun, yes, although the people of Haarlem go the extra mile on Friday afternoons/evenings. Like. Back to Seymour. The classic typical French restaurant is a Brasserie with a capital B. As it goes. Lots of curly and dark wood, a long wide bar (with a friendly bartender behind it, very un-French), hanging plants, a long bench along the wall, bistro seats in the rest of the place and oysters and steak tartare (favorite!) the menu. Metdebenenbuiten is open on the aforementioned Friday evening, so reservations are recommended. And while we're at the point of recommending it: the steak tartare is nice and creamy and well prepared and has a perfect egg on top, the prawns are garlicky and you can blindly say yes to the quail.
