The most beautiful jewelry brands (in our humble opinion)
God oh god, jewelry, we can't stop talking about it and we certainly don't get tired of it. Why? Your answer: one earparty remains one party. And we have to have a party, don't we? We always find a good excuse to adorn ourselves with jewelry. Preferably variants of the real thing solid gold material, decorated with the most beautifully cut gemstones that seem to take on a different color in every light, the real deal. Or vintage pieces, signet rings, coarse link chains (neck mess it is), subtle earrings... We still want so-so-so much and that is why, with a little pain in our hearts, we reveal our secret addresses where we flee to 'in need':
The Haarlem girls who Studio Kroewe Runs not only make dreams of gold jewelry, they also do so in the most sympathetic way: those pearls of gold are handmade from vintage jewelry. So old gold, new style. And being sympathetic doesn't stop there: if you're short on cash, or simply can't or don't want to put down a few hundred euros at once, the girls will let you pay in 3 parts. No problemo: you can simply indicate this when checking out. Your purchase will be sent to you upon the first payment. Sympathetic beauty – we love. Studio Kroewe
A white t-shirt or a nice sweater is immediately fancy immediately bold chain of Stellar Whispers. Stellar creates stylish necklaces and bracelets with large gemstones as black onyx, clear quartz and wine-red carnelian. Finished with a chic gold clasp. The idea behind the stones is that they each carry their own energy. Stellar Whispers necklaces are radiant, powerful and feminine.
Bold gold, that is Ninekarat. The younger sister of goldsmith Nadine Kieft (see below). With Ninekarat – or should we write 9 Karat – she creates a collection that is more outspoken, gender neutral and more affordable. The collection includes necklaces, pendants, earrings and bracelets with talismans and spirit animals such as mushrooms, seahorses and swallows. The jewelry is made of 9 carat gold and can last a lifetime.
Whether you are ready for a piece Next Level jewelry? Because then byJacky, in full byJacky House of Jewelery, is your man. Woman. That is an important message, regardless of the (beautiful) jewelry that owner Jacky has in store for you: women should actually (be allowed to) buy much more jewelry for themselves. Because it is possible. And because you are worth it. Hear hear. Completely agree, because anyone who doesn't tickle themselves... Right.
So jewelry, not just jewelry. No, the items that byJacky offers are real one of a kind. Jacky is not a goldsmith herself, but she is a professional (she learned the ropes from Gassan) and, thanks to her years of experience and eye for real pearls, she puts together a unique, rapidly changing collection with jewelry from brands that only employ female makers take shelter. This results in a special selection that you really have to sit down for. And that's where Jacky comes in: she comes to her clientele at home. If desired, she will sit down with you to create your own private collection steady and make it a fitting whole. Just like you should/want to do with your clothing and, for example, your art collection. Also a great idea to do this together with a few friends: I'm sure you'll learn a lot. Watching, watching, not buying is also allowed by Jacky, but a handsome boy (er, woman) who keeps it up... ByJacky
You stumble – sort of speaking – on the gram about the vintage jewelry and we really don't mind that at all. However, the undisputed queen is and remains Linda's Opal. Almost every evening at 21 p.m. we are ready to capture a vintage pearl from her madness-ni-ge collection (can we have everything?) necklaces, bracelets, pendants, the occasional earring for variety and mostly divine good for the fingers. So rings. And then the most beautiful vintage variants with (or without) gemstones. Everything gold, nothing fake (not even starting with Linda) and my-my-mine or 'I want it' stuff. The most special opals (because what else), lovely peridots, deeply colored garnets, romantic amethysts, bright aquamarine. Can we continue a little longer? Yes: more vintage jewelry
It must have been love at first sight when I saw the jewelry Sophie Joanne. The Amsterdambased Sophie, who decided to change course after twelve years in the fashion world, attempted one lucky shot with the launch of her jewelry brand. Sophie Joanne sparkles just like a brand new ring does: the brand has only been around for a few months and we are already lost in the collection. Oh shame on us, how quickly we managed to make room for it on our hands. Because those ring(s!), earrings and… Oh, everything is beautiful.
An ode to motherhood, is the headline on the Les Mères website. Okay, that's fine with us, although we bet that everyone will love the beautiful, original gold-and-pearlsgoodies from Les Meres. Start with a letter and we promise: you are hooked.
Create a all-time favorite this. Mary Black has everything. From subtle to shiny bedazzled rings, earrings, necklaces and what not? And from gold-plated/gold-filled, to the (in our opinion) better stuff: solid gold. Maria Black is best known for her fantastic piercing shops, of which the world now knows a few. So you were allowed in Copenhagen, Munich or London then this is the time to take the plunge and put an extra hole in your ear. Bonus points: you will immediately put in a beautiful earring that you will never want to take off again. sooo Maria Black? When are you coming to the Netherlands? A little jewelryAddict travels for a return ticket…
Ohlala. Just do one with 'always", "happiness' or 'luckyengraved love locket. They are beautiful and you understand: we would like them all. The enameled variants, or those charms encrusted with gemstones, are designed to be saved for monthly. No, it's cheap Marie Lichtenberg not, but oh how we want it (all).
In addition to the lovelockets, the form Elle France editor also has the most special earrings, link bracelets and necklaces (where you can hook those love lockets) and much more to keep dreaming about.
It's beautiful. Everything. Legend says that it all started with the -now famous- 'locks'. Or actually a kind of connector with which you can attach endless jewelry. We know those locks in the Netherlands from Elle Aime (just scroll down), for example. But Marla casts her 14 or 18k gold in all kinds of special shapes and sizes. In the shape of a heart, a star, inlaid with stones. Crochet coarse or subtle chains yourself. Cover yourself with the beautiful charms and your hands will not be spared. Are you looking for fine jewelry? Then is Marla Aaron probably not your thing. Expect color, chunky links and gemstones. And expect a hefty price tag, but hey: we can treat ourselves outrageously sometimes, no?
Few days go by without a little vintage tour on Instagram to discover new labels. And so we regularly get lost in the app, until recently Tigerpop encountered. First that name and then everything beautiful in the feed. Tigerpop is, as they like to call themselves, 'the home of silver and gold curiosities' and they're damn right about that. Because hello, our hand is still missing one of those droplet rings. And although there is now mainly silver among all the beautiful things, one said little birdy recently that a lot of gold is in the making. Are we waiting for that? Oh well, we think silver and gold go great together. But once it is available, we cannot promise that we will expand the Tigerpop collection quickly.
smitten we are with Arrogant. Not only because the webshop has a beautiful name (we think) and ditto logo, but also because we can't get enough of the beautiful collections. And we really like the story behind the label of Mandy and her puppy Elton (just read it on the website). Anyway, back to Rogue. You will find there handpicked girl power gorgeousness of sustainable indie brands created by female founders. A mouthful + all good. Owner Mandy loves traveling, flea markets, the stars and, as mentioned, cuddling her puppy Elton. This is reflected in her company.
Check for example Cleopatra's Bling. This jewelry line from Olivia is inspired by the cosmos. Large earrings in the shape of a sun and moon face. Or gorgeous indie brand Atelier Labro with homemade (beaded) jewelry such as bracelets and necklaces with flowers and playful, colorful fruit earrings. Nice! Also WildThings Collectables can be found at Rogue. Piece by piece statement pieces that you don't want to take off anymore. Our favorite? The Feeling Peachy earring. Last but not least: the beautiful Flawed. This sustainable jewelry label is made by small family businesses in Bali. Extra beautiful. All are available at all times fair and sustainable produced with vintage and certified materials. Fan! Also from the huge collection of posters and the beautiful beauty collection.
Head over heals on the new ELLE AIME jewelry. Not only because the necklaces, bracelets and charms are simply beautiful, but also because we really appreciate the whole idea behind the label: the girls behind ELLE AIME promote the idea of first taking a look in your own jewelry box and seeing if there is anything beautiful in there. that you can combine with one of their items. This way you can buy the links separately from the chains and vice versa. The same applies to the charms and bracelets. In this way you combine an 'old' chain with a new link, place an old bracelet between a new chain that you connect with one of the clasps. You then hang one of the charms on it, preferably together with one of the charms that you already dig up from your jewelry collection. And then just save. Hooked, that's what we are.
All that gold and all that shiny… Looking at all the jewelry from The FoxPomona it's like we're dreaming. A treasure chest that we want to rummage around in all day, try on, mix and match, we are in love. There is nothing, absolutely nothing from the brand that we don't want and we put the full blame for that on Susan, the owner and the creative person who makes the vast majority of the collection. (Can you teach us too?) Where we normally go to the website, to treat ourselves again or to wishlist to be supplemented considerably, it is now temporarily under construction. Don't panic, keep following the brand's Insta closely and send a message, DM or app if you want something. What to expect: the most beautiful engravings, beautiful links and antique coins. We apologize in advance for your new addiction.
Dear Anna and Nina, owners of the Dutch Label Anna + Nina (yes, you really say: “Anna plus Nina”) you are doing so well! May we say, with one beautiful collection after another that we see passing by. And sigh, those vintage collections that they come up with again and again. Just unfair. With vintage we hear nothing other than the word 'unique' and of course we have to have everything, logically. We therefore warn, when the shops open again, not to visit them too often Atelier or new store at the herengracht to visit: just candy shops where they have these vintage treasures to sell. There is also a lovely goldsmith in the Atelier who will give you the very best advice about your futures piece of jewelry (they also know good advice in the other stores) and here you can even design some things in collaboration. So for now, just check their website safely behind your computer. It's all so nice...
Little treasures, that's what Nadine Kieft makes in her studio on the eastern side of our capital. Earrings, necklaces, rings, silver and gold: everything is handmade and finished with lots of love. You can almost feel it when wearing these unique works of art. But be aware, she makes a lot of beautiful things, that Nadine (and her great team).
To our great dismay, we too often see those far too beautiful jewelry from Perla by Simplicity pass by the parade. Whether it is on that phone on which we shop all over Instagram or whether we see it adorning someone's neck (where we would prefer to steal it from because we want, no, must, have it). And let's just be sensitive to Perla's beautiful jewelry, I'm sure you've already noticed. To hook one of those pearls, visit the store Wolfware Amsterdam or you can surf straight from Instagram to their webshop. In the collection you mainly see a lot of shiny perlas, or pearls. But also for the non-pearl loversCheck it out, there is so much beauty to admire. Really and truly.
But… Don't skip 'just' simplicity either! Our favorite for years no bullshit jewelry supplier. No bullshit but with taste. Unsurpassed, still, in terms of the best service and price-quality ratio.
We are also very satisfied with the following brand. Except for the name, it sounds nice, but when we see it on paper we are a bit surprised. BY1OAK is your brand when it comes to expanding your collection. Expect simplistic jewelry with the occasional tiny gemstones. Plus point: the eternal debate between gold or silver is not an issue here, it is best of both worlds here.
None other than the Dutch Bibi van der Velden proves once again that jewelry is a form of art. This woman, the incredibly talented designer that she is, brings amazement to our faces every time we see one of her new works. Lots of wow,my god how beautiful and sighs have already been discussed here. Bibi designs jewelry and makes it with surprising and often sustainable materials. With a fascination for nature, she makes tiny ticklish creatures for your ear or around your neck. You have to love it, we can scroll through her Insta and website for hours and hours (without jokes).
Anyone who knows Amsterdam, knows it Lyppens or probably heard talk about it. Or else you can let us tell you. Because with sixty years of Lyppen's history, the jeweler has made some name for itself in our great city. Perhaps the only jewelry spot in-town where at every opportunity there is a real queue at the door. We understand, because they have a lot of splendor (and some splendor here and there, as you get with such a golden oldie). Especially if you are looking for something quite specific, then this is your place to at least take a look or rummage through all the shiny stuff. Don't believe us? Then look up the website and judge for yourself. We told ya.
A sneaky Belgian in the list. But without Karolin van Loon the list was of no use because we have the following problem: we are a hotel debotel, head over heels on her jewelry with agate geode (what in the end hollow rocks with crystal, but sounds a lot less interesting). We don't know yet whether it is mainly a case of we should have it in our jewelry collection now, only time will tell. But that we want it is a fact and that feeling won't go away for a while without us ects have wrapped Karolin van Loon around our fingers. Because then we will show off and shine, don't you know! They are not cheap, but saving is still a verb, for now we reserve a place on the wishlist. It's funny, she also sells her own vegan nail polish to make your hands completely 'show the world proof' a succes story.
Sometimes we just pretend for a moment that Belgium belongs to the Netherlands and the Netherlands belongs to Belgium. Like now with the original Belgian Wouters & Hendrix for example. Dames Wouters and Hendrix, two talented goldsmiths, entered the market in 1984 with their own jewelry brand. They never dared to dream that it would be a great success. Yet, after all these years, Wouters and Hendrix continues to deserve a place among the most beautiful jewelry brands we know. Many fascinating symbols play a leading role in this label. For the daredevil who wants a crow's foot in his ear or large pearls that seem to drip down your neck. Nothing is too crazy for this brand. Even though they also have beautiful pieces in their diverse collection that are suitable for everyone every day wearable are. It is not without reason that when we see someone with a beautiful piece of jewelry, it often turns out to be from Wouters and Hendrix.
We can be brief about Jéh Jewels, because as is always the case with jewelry: it glitters, is beautiful and once in your ears, on your hands and on your neck, you never want to take it off. Yeh Jewels has built up a large collection of more than beautiful jewelry in its more than thirty years of existence. Everything is made by mother and daughter with their own hand and design, making the world a much more beautiful place. She only work with sustainable materials and only with suppliers who, like them, believe in an honest product. We think it's extra beautiful. A gift with a beautiful story. Difficult to give them up? Hey, then you keep them to yourself. Every six months a new collection of timeless jewelry is launched and that is a party every time. Browsing among the beautiful goods is possible on the Jéh Jewels website itself, but also at one of the sales points so that you can first view it in real life. Want to add to your collection.
Another nice gem that you have to keep an eye on all the time in case you see your piece of jewelry passing by. That's kind of how it works with jewelry: love at first sight. When you see that one earring, bracelet or ring you just know 'I have to have that'. A new batch of shiny goods is regularly placed on the website. Lock Stock Jewelry is an out-of-control collection of beautiful brands, ha Wouters & Hendrix, where new ones keep being added every time. And here too we see plenty that we would rather add to our jewelry collection today than tomorrow.
Nothing plated, nothing jewelry that we can throw in the trash after a while (something with cheap is expensive) but everything gold, solid gold with at least 14 carats as a starting point. Shells, coral, turquoise and coarse links: that's how we like to see it on our loved one Acül. Owner Kik Scheele prefers to make a jewelry collection with small imperfections, where you can still see the soldering. This partly creates the rough, natural edges on the jewelry, which makes it all seem a little more correct and yes, makes it even more perfect. With the necessary trips to Morocco, Bali, India and Thailand, she always comes back with a good dose of new inspiration. And then we can soon enjoy a delicious supplemented collection.
We just do a bit of smuggling here. Although it seems like Aurate New York is an American brand, we think the story is a little different. Owner and designer of Aurate, Sophie may have moved to New York (and has her shop there) but she is actually very Dutch. Together with le partner she runs Aurate and sells beautiful, fine jewelry. Affordable? It is certainly not prohibitively expensive, but as soon as there is a pearl or a diamond, we have to think twice. But hey, it's beautiful and it's shiny and, bang, we want it. Oops.
