Slovenia: beautiful and special overnight stays (glamping, accommodations, cottages and more) in nature
Slovenia is hot and happening. The 'dull' image is gone Slovenia is on the bucket list of many travelers. Not on yours yet? Then here are a number of reasons why it should be on that bucket list. This small country between Croatia and Italy is not very touristy, the nature is fairytale-like, Slovenia has three major wine regions, and the country is a very green destination for outdoor activities. From mountain biking and SUPing to hiking and spotting brown bears.
Oh and we hadn't talked about where you can sleep yet, but the accommodations are wonderful here. Especially those glamping sites, accommodations and houses away from the crowd. Not huddling together, but into nature. And these are the most beautiful and special overnight stays.
Slovenia is one glamping Valhalla with luxury campsites in the mountains, in the countryside, among the vineyards or on a river. And oh how beautiful they are here. We have listed a number of them for you:
- Chocolate Village (Maribor): all things chocolate (from breakfast to workshops, cosmetics and massages) at this glamping resort in a natural park on a river. The glamping is located in the Natura 2000 park, along the Drava cycle route and just 5 steps from a chocolate factory.
- Chateau Ramšak (Maribor): Hidden in the rolling green hills of the scenic Styria wine region, this is a paradise for nature lovers, luxury and of course wine. This glamping is also just a stone's throw from the city.
- garden village (Bled): green, greener, greenest. Attention to detail in every accommodation at Garden Village. Plenty to do for the whole family.
- Charming Slovenia (Savinji) perhaps located in one of the most beautiful and unspoilt parts of Slovenia. Beautiful tents, beautiful surroundings and beautiful facilities. And that dinner by the campfire was so nice.
- Green Resort (Radlje ob Dravi): the wooden glamping houses next to the wheat fields with round windows and glass doors overlooking nature are the golden formula for a romantic overnight stay.
- Pikol (Nova Gorica): Falling asleep to the murmur of a stream in the background and waking up to the croaking of frogs, that's where you have to go to Lake Pikol.
- Pira Hotel (Hrusevje): New in 2023 is this beautifully decorated boutique hotel. Bright spaces, nice restaurant and an eye for detail.
- Sibon Resort (Ivanjkovci) unpack? Then you must have this one. The luxurious wine & spa surrounded by the nature of Prekmurje has a wellness center that is worth a visit.
- Hotel Bohinj (Bohinjsko jezero): another one you hate. Hotel Bohinj is located in the center of Ribčev Laz, just a few steps from Lake Bohinj and the wellness, rooms and restaurant are here. spot-on.
- Villa Majada (Črni Kal): a four-star hotel among green olive groves and vineyards. An Istrian villa with a swimming pool and a green garden, what more could you want on holiday?
- Heaven (Kobarid): where less is more and silence is the best music. Look, that sounds wonderfully peaceful. And they are, the four chalets for two people with views of the peaks of the Julian Alps – the Triglav National Park and the river Soča in the valley below.
- Vila Fabjan (Kopdilj): Italy or Slovenia? The latter, but you will find a wine estate with a country house in Italian style.
- Ortenia (Podčetrtek): surrounded by, how could it be otherwise in this list, nature. These eco-apartments are located in the Slovenian thermal area, so you get a nice mix of design, luxury and nature.
- Theodosius (Vipava): it takes some searching in the pine forest, but once found you have a view of the majestic Vipava valley, which you will be amazed by. Expect a combination of nature and modern comfort in the houses with countless activities just a stone's throw away.
- Sofia Chalet (Gozd Martuljek): Brand new in 2023. Nice view here. In winter on the snow-covered mountains and in summer on the same mountains but without snow.
- Tri Lucke (Krsko): an oasis of peace with the vineyards on the left and a very beautiful place to stay on the right. The rooms can be booked separately and you would want to go there for the restaurant alone.
