These are the nicest summer terraces in Limburg
Yes: if something is 'two hands on one stomach' then it is summer and terraces. Let's just get there, that summer period. For that necessary holiday feeling, even if you are staying in your own country this summer (nothing wrong with that!), you often park yourself on a terrace. And let's be honest: the options are endless for good terraces, as we wrote earlier in our terrace list. But still: here's an attempt at a few of our summer ones favorites in Limburg highlight. In no particular order, of course. Let's sprint! Or for the Northerners among us: a long sprint. To the south. These are the the finest summer terraces in Limburg
A beach bar? In Limburg? Yes, yes. Our favorite summer spots are often on the water and that is exactly what you have here beach bar Bruis will find. A beach bar without a real beach, after all, there is no sea in Limburg (gosh), but with the desired beach bar vibes. How about the stuffed portobello with buffalo mozzarella and sun-dried tomatoes or the varying 'catch of the day'? Sounds good, right? For a snack, cocktail, beautiful interior and sun, you've come to the right place at Bruis. We assure you.
At the only thing forest cafe of the Netherlands, you will also have a great time in the summer. Hidden in the woods and at an altitude of 260 meters, it is always several degrees cooler here (5 degrees to be precise, we were told) than in the bloody hot city. And with all these heat waves, we could use that. Sometimes you get a bit tired of all the hip and new places, at least we do. Then you crave authenticity and sincerity. That's what you find here. No fancy decorations the panting deer: craft beer and c such as grandpa's chicken are central. If the temperature is OK on the day you go (in other words: not drenched in sweat just sitting), then choose to do the Vijlenerberg pub route. Where this forest café is also located. While walking through the Limburg forests, you will explore various pubs. And that sounds as fun as it is.
Stands for Boulevard. And that is exactly what you imagine yourself to be when you settle down here on the terrace. A boulevard on our oh-so-beloved Côte d'Azur, for example. The always delicious cocktails, loungevibe with ditto music, and the good bites are something to write home about. You look out over the harbour, where there are always plenty of boats to watch during the summer holidays. In addition, this applies BLVD locationlocationlocation: Maas view it is. Here you can see the sun sink into the sea (or yes, Maas...) and you can relax by the water. Note: on Thursdays you can order a cocktail menu here. Say, three selected cocktails for a small amount, with a drink. So are you ready for a Mediterranean atmosphere in your own country? Then BLVD is one gosh choice.
Where we ended up after a day of sailing on the Maasplassen? Now Nautilus, Naturally. Located on the marina, with a dike of a terrace overlooking the water and the best place in this city to watch the sun go down: that is how you would describe Nu Nautilus. A large, cozy living room. And outside in the summer, of course. No problem if an unexpected downpour passes over the country, because it is just as beautiful inside. Add to this that they have an excellent menu with dishes such as sole, fresh tuna steak or truffle pasta and costum-made serve gin and tonics and you're done.
A golden oldie should not be missing from this list. According to experts in Limburg, the tastiest ice cream in the province & they have already won many prizes. Clevers has several locations, but our personal favorite is in Arcen. In a characteristic building hidden in the idyllic village of Arcen with a terrace on the Maas, the holiday feeling is greater than ever. Clevers is the place to be. It is also great for an ice cream on your fist, just stroll through the historic streets or go to the Castle Gardens (which we wrote about earlier).
On the banks of the Maas you can see the sun setting behind the historic buildings, while you are eating remarkably well and sipping a bubble on the terrace. Do you see it in your mind? Then feel free to go to Noon. Located in one of the nicest neighborhoods of Maastricht, Wyck, this restaurant is hidden away. Hip, trendy and on point. That's how we would describe Noon. In the late hours, and that is what we aim for during the long and warm summer evenings, it is a lounge area where you sit on the terrace - under the parasols with fringes - for a cocktail with a matching bite like oysters. Interested in it? We get it. On to Noon and the skyline of Maastricht is at your feet.
